Buying a Kilo of Lechon

Hello everyone. How are you today? What did you do yesterday? About me, I went to the new public market here to buy a kilo of lechon baboy (roasted pig) as my mother craved it so much. A kilo of lechon here costs 700 pesos or around 12$. My mother love it so much especially the skin that is crunchy. About me, I like barbecue more than lechon. Here, we can also buy 1/2 kilo and 1/4. When I was pregnant, I craved it so much but it expired after I gave birth. 1000006067.jpg To be honest, I was hesitant to buy in this place because it was just along the road. I imagined how many dust it collected. There are many places here in Butuan that sell lechon but with a clean and safer environment. Anyhow, I was still hopeful it is clean because they covered it with a transparent plastic. They also have many customers. Yet, when I arrived home, I immediately heated it to the oven so that it'll be safer to eat and I won't overthink so much. I remember when we used to eat at the carenderia. Five minutes later, we brought my nephew at the hospital's emergency room. He had severe diarrhea, was vomited a lot and weak. 1000006068.jpg My nephew had a bacteria in his stomach taken from foods. According to the doctor, if we didn't bring him there immediately, he would be confined at the ICU due to severe dehydration. We were panicking that time when my nephew was too weak, that it was only his eyes that moved. My brother carried him out from the car as he lost a lot of strength. It's very dangerous to eat foods in an unsanitary place and unsanitary hands that prepared those. 1000006070.jpg It was a hot sunny day around 11 am when I walked from my house to here. This place is 10 kilometres away from the house and I do it three times a week if we ran out of supplies. I hate our residential place because there are no tricycles allowed where we can commute back and forth. There are only the big trucks and buses that pass by. Our area is along the highway and tricycles can cause the main road traffic. That is why, we always jog three times a week from home into this place. This place has everything we need from these stores Agrivet Supplies, Tires and Car Accessories, Car Wash, Restaurant, Small Sari-Sari Stores, Pharmacies and Groceries, Dental Clinic, Bakeries, Barbecue Houses, Medical Clinic, Convenient Stores, ATM banks, pawnshops, laundry shops, hotel, water station and Gym. Nine years ago, this place was a rice field along the big trees. We were scared to hike here as the road was dark. But now, everything changes.

1000006069.jpg As I was walking down, this place with a Sari-Sari store was burnt. So sad for the store owner. One day, it will be replaced by big commercial building, just like what's beside where they built a new public market.

1000006072.jpg This is the new public market. It is clean and wide. A lot of people in Butuan are complaining why it is tranferred here. The old wet public market is near, with many vehicles passing by and is accessible for commuting. They complain because it will be their double expense because they are certain that this new market will provide costly pricing. The wet public market Langihan is a market with cheapest displays of fish and vegetables. However, it's very dirty market, that's why we call it a wet market.

Some people are also complaining why it took 10 years to finish these buildings. Yeah, I remember 9 years ago when we used to hike here, they began to build that year. Until now, it isn't finished. We've been wondering why. Anyway, that's up to now. I wish you all have a good day!
