Frying Bangus and Making it a Soup

Hello everyone. I'm back and I'm so happy I'm emotionally drained today that's why I've found a good time to post here. As usual, it's been an exhausted days and I'm used to it. It's a part of adulting and it's challenging, but I love challenges especially now that I'm a single mother.

1000004856.jpg Today, I picked up the okra, tomatoes, lemon grass and ginger from the backyard because I wanted to cook a fried bangus or milkfish soup. There's no onion in the fridge but it's okay because the fish is deep fried. The stinky smell is gone. Have you tried frying the fish first to make a soup bangus? Plus, the lemon grass is so aromatic that makes the viand more delicious. The okra is palatable, plus healthy too. If I add it to a soup, I don't slice it to avoid a slimy soup. We usually steam it in the morning, but this time is added to a soup. I also added the Malunggay leaves I took from the backyard. This fish soup is nutritious.

1000004858.jpg Before I put the milkfish in the pan, I added salt first to avoid the oil splattering. There are still the tiny splashes but at least, safer than without the salt. Plus, deep frying a fish is even tastier when it is rubbed first by salt. Sometimes, we soak it in a soy sauce instead of salt and I swear not to do it again because I don't like the taste.

1000004851.jpg While I fried the fish, my mother received her Bluetooth speaker parcel she ordered from Shoppee that costs 3,500 pesos. It has free two microphones. Both are wireless and wired. My mother loves to sing using a karaoke machine and mic everyday. I also love to sing on there even if my voice isn't nice, but since I have a baby, I found it annoying. I mean, it's too noisy for me. Maybe I'm in a stage of being a senior citizen. Just kidding, I'm 34 years old, but my grandparents remind me about myself now. During my youth, I loved playing a loud music they used to hate. They would stop me turning the volume so loud. Now I feel what they felt. We can play a music without disturbing the neighbours. I wish to buy a soundproof wall soon to put in the living room, so that, it'll never be noisy inside the room when they sing outside and we cannot disturb neighbours.

1000004855.jpg Even when I cook, I make sure that the kitchen is clean. Is it true what they say that we shouldn't wash our hands after cooking because our hands are exposed at the heat? And when we do it, it affects our nerves. Is it okay or just a myth? I wish that someone can answer this even if they're not doctors, but their doctors told them. Sometimes, I feel like my hands are weak, but I also think that maybe I'm just overthinking and having an anxiety, remembering of what they warned. If my kitchen is messy, my head is messy too. 1000004847.jpg I ate an ube kalamay today. My little sister brought it that her classmate gave. Kalamay is a famous souvenir from Bohol that mostly Filipinos love to bring to their family when they have a trip in such beautiful place. It is very sweet and sticky. Because it is very sweet, I couldn't dare to eat it because I don't like sweets. My mother, however, even in her current health status loved it so much. She's not a diabetic, she's just diagnosed of mild stroke. Her therapist forbid her to eat sweet foods, but she doesn't listen. 4d1063ad-14e2-450e-9e42-12c6a234aea0-1_all_4403.jpg While I'm busy at home, my baby used her creativity to make the chair a slide. She enjoyed sliding herself into the chair. I'm so sad that I couldn't buy her a slide, but I also think that she'll grow up faster and it'll be wasted. And it'll be hard for me to throw it away. Or just sell it. I love watching her being so independent doing many things creatively. Anyway, bye for now. How about you, what did you do today?
