Hello everyone, how are you? About me, it's been a struggling week, financially and emotionally. The hardest part to be a mother is when your child is sick and you don't have money. It's a double stress. However, I'm grateful that my family has always been supportive. I'm grateful that I have a mother who takes care of us both. In the picture above is my baby when I didn't suspect she has UTI. She didn't have a fever and didn't have mucus in her nose. She played a lot that day.
This week, my baby has cough, cold and fever. I had sleepless nights because I was worrying a lot. It started with a mild cough. On the first day, I gave her Salbutamol, but the phlegm didn't go away. I tried Fluimocil and Ambroxol but the cough didn't listen. So I made a final decision to bring her to the pedia as I suspected that she needs an antibiotic. In the picture is my baby who wears a facemask because the hospital's security will never open the entrance gate for us if we don't follow the rules.
We went at the public hospital of Butuan which is Butuan Medical Hospital. People here shortened it's name into City Hospital. Some people name it as BMC. Because it's a public hospital, the checkup is free. The lab tests are cheaper than the private as well as the prescribed medicines by tne doctor. This hospital reminds me when my mother was admitted for one month when I was eighten. My mother was put on ICU for a week and three weeks at the private room. That was the most terrifying memory when I was her watcher at the ICU and the other patients beside her bed were dead. For the goodness of God, my mother became healthy again until. We went out from the hospital with free bills. We paid nothing because the hospital's director was my father's friend.
When we arrived around 8 in the morning, we were lining up outside. It was a long queue but we didn't wait that long. The secretary gave us the lab tests prescription of urine test and CVC. We went to the laboratory and the staffs took a blood sample of my baby. She was scared and cried a lot when the needle was pinned. Then we were given a tiny container for her urine. We waited for 10 minutes before she was peeing. We were happy because we didn't wait for a couple of hours for her to urinate. We happily gave it to the laboratory.
My baby was irritated. She didn't like wandering off. It was new to me because whenever we are, she loved to explore a lot of places. She loved approaching many children Yesterday, she always chose to just sleep. We waited for one hour to get the lab result for cvc, 'till the staff asked us to get a new urine sample as she according dropped their glass cylinder with the urine. I was upset because we needed to wait for a couple of hours before my baby pees. But, no choice. After 30 minutes, the result was done and it was very surprising for me who experienced a slow result at the private hospitals. It only took 30 minutes.
The result said, my baby has UTI and is experiencing a flu. The doctor prohibits my Pointy to eat junk foods again. She prescribed an Ambroxol for her cough, Disudrin for her nasal congestion and an antibiotic. Right now, she is feeling better, but it's so frustrating that my baby doesn't like the medicines especially antibiotics. She just spit the antibiotic and it's stressing me out because an antibiotic is the most important prescription to kill bacteria caused by flu and UTI.In the picture above is our snack which is the buko juice. We didn't have breakfast that time and lunch.
Anyway, I must end up here. Goodnight!
