On the way to the gallery, I took some photos of the city in a natural setting. The exhibition is a private collection of someone who decided to visit several cultural spaces and ended up trapped inside them.

The architecture of the building housing the gallery is distinctly colonial and Baroque. As we ventured inside with the Italian artist named Martin Faure for his first personal exhibition in Havana, titled "The Four Corners of the Spherical World," we noticed he showed no sign of stage fright and explained each of his works in detail.

Martin’s canvases explore a heterotopic vision of Cuban reality, where seemingly unrelated figures and objects coexist within a single staged landscape.
Perhaps through the recurring number four (symbolizing the square)—ever-present yet often invisible to the naked eye—Faure aims to metaphorize his own cosmic trinity and the unspoken yearnings of the island.

The images displayed on the gallery walls—through their content, color, texture, focus, and blur—are, ultimately, a celebratory reinvention of life as the artist experienced it during his time in Cuba.
On view are raw, intimate portrayals: a sensual Cuban beauty, vibrant nightscapes, timeless traditions, and the island’s rich cultural tapestry.

From what I can observe in his paintings, they are abstract works blending surrealist and symbolic elements within a strongly geometric framework.

This work appears to explore the relationship between body, inner landscape, and the construction of a 'specific space' blending memory, architecture, and symbolism. It might be interpreted as a mental or spiritual state rather than a physical place.
Personally, I was enthralled - nearly all attendees seemed deeply connected to this uniquely compelling art.

Each of these paintings carries profound meaning and its own distinct message, suggesting an intimate, structural exploration of a personal universe. Here, every 'corner' might represent a dimension of identity, memory, or the artist's unique perception.

A journey of eternal fortune with brief, paused stations upon the wide white walls of the Palace—now peacefully hosting this exhibition.
Perhaps here, within the four points of this space, and through the adventure of sensing what it holds, we confirm that ‘nothing is permanent except change.’
