It's one thing to forgive a person, but another to get past the hurt and resentment you feel towards such a person.
It can be difficult as the mere thought of this person enrages you, and you hate how they still make you feel despite not talking to them.
When I see people who boast of not having friends and friendship drama in their lives, I don’t blame them sometimes because friendship comes with a lot of work and baggage. You can’t just call people your friends without putting in the work. Beyond the glitz and glamour lie people who work tirelessly to see their friendship blossom.

When you’re friends with people be sure to prepare for the good, the bad, and the ugly as the bad days will come, and your friendship will be tested greatly.
As an individual, I couldn’t care less what random people think about me or about the stupid fights I have with them, but when it comes to my friends it's hard, it's harder than I’d like to admit and it sucks. How do these people know the right chord to strike? How do they know the right buttons to press to trigger me? In moments like this, you wonder if making or building friendships is worth it in the first place.
Today was such a day, a day where I had an altercation with a friend, and this person's words were like daggers piercing my heart with every utterance, no holding back, no filter, just raw.

Over time I have learnt to give people grace in the face of conflict. I’m angry, you’re angry, but a part of me would still hold on to our months or years of friendship. I try to hold onto whatever thread that is left instead of throwing it all away because of a heated fight.
After my altercation with this person, all I could think of was how a person could become another person in the face of conflict. We both said things we weren’t proud of, but getting to this point in our lives when we could resort to such was shocking.

Conflicts will always be there in our friendships and relationships but our ability to resolve these conflicts without ruining the beautiful thing we have with the other person is what makes us mature.
If you have a good friend, don’t lose them over silly fights. Good friends are hard to find these days.
