Hi, Icelover here, and this is Hive Open Mic Week 269; for this week, the title of my cover song is “The One That Got Away” by Katty Perry. The song was released in 2010, It beautifully captures the complexity of relationships and the bittersweet memories that linger long after they end, which is part of what draws me to it. When the song was released, it was considered one of the artist's standout tracks because it showed the ability of the artist to create both a crafty and memorable song; this made it one of the reasons why I love the song.
