Anne-Marie for Tunes Day

**Magandang buhay!** A pretty quiet day for us in DD, well, except for my little boy who decided to be loud, lol! He kept barking at the slightest movement outside, or when he sensed vehicles or people passing by. He seems to be having an identity crisis or something. Add his barks to my coughing, it becomes a unique melody, lol! Which reminds me it's Tuesday, or Tunes day.

I had this set on my draft for a while, but haven't been able to share it, so I'm just going to send it out already to get rid of it, lol! Kidding aside, I think today is the right time for it, especially since I missed doing an edition last week for the TTT initiative by Ablaze. Anne-Marie is a British singer-songwriter who had her break in 2016, although she started recording in 2013. I first encountered her song a month ago and thought she was one I could listen to in a certain mood. Here's the first modern pop tune for the day. ### I Don't Like Your Boyfriend

This was an instant earworm for me. I like it because of its fun vibe, catchy melody, the buoyant beats, and the playful, assertive, and relatable lyrics. It reminded me of a memory where someone told me he disapproved of my boyfriend. When asked why, he said, "I don't like him, period."😅 And oh, not to forget that the chorus makes me want to just jump out of my chair and dance. The song was released last week of February this year. And here comes tune 2: ### Depressed

Another release this year (September), the song explores the theme of mental health and the struggles of dealing with depression, the irony of seeming fine and putting on a brave face on the outside, but crumbling internally. I feel the song is too short, though, ending abruptly. But it delivers the message, I guess, so it's okay. The third tune is a collaboration with another British singer, James Arthur. ### Rewrite The Stars

Still a pop, but the lyrics and delivery are a little more serious. Accordingly, this duet was released in 2018 as a promotional track for the American biographical musical drama film, The Greatest Showman: Reimagined. The song showcased both the artists' vocal talents and passionate delivery. They are a good match, yeah? It won't be surprising if they do another collab.
