Fri-Yay!

**Magandang buhay!** It was a relaxing Friday for us here in DD. We woke up late, we often do these days (mostly around 7 or 8 am). With Yongi still in the recovery stage from his neutering, he sometimes experiences discomfort at night, keeping us up, especially since he still wears his e-collar to prevent him from licking the wound. For almost a week now (since Saturday), I have been sleeping with him on the floor on an inflatable camping mattress so he won't jump up and down our bed. I read that we should limit their physical activities (including climbing stairs or running) because these can make the incision site swell and affect their recovery. Today, I can proudly say his surgical wound is about 99% dry and is healing beautifully. There had been no infection or swelling, so yay!

It helped that the vet did a great job with the surgery, leaving the sac intact (he explained he considered the LilGuy's comfort when sitting and the ease of carrying or holding him without hurting or even touching his wound). He also made a neat suture, so I think we won't see traces of the stitches later on. It may be a little too early to say, but I am just happy our boy didn't suffer much from the procedure, as well as during his recovery period. Anyway, later in the afternoon, the hubby suggested we shave each other's heads, to which I readily agreed, because I feel more comfortable with short, short hair, and I often have it clipped (they grow so fast). Thankfully, he enjoys doing it himself, which saves me time and moolah from going to the salon, haha!

Meanwhile, his nearly bald head (he has thinning hair, it's in their genes) needed a little love, so I just ran the clipper on it. It didn't even take ten minutes, and my job was done. If we went to the hairdresser, it would have cost us a few hours (the drive going and coming home, and we might even have to wait for our turn if the salon had other customers). So yes, it's good to have learned the basics. It's another way to bond and have fun, too. This could also be something nice to look back on when we grow older, and who knows, we might still do it, even in our 50s, 60s, or 70s😊
