It's the hump day on my side of town and it's dreary and gusty outside hence, I'm keeping myself indoors and staying warm. Got back home last night from my parents' and much had been going on that I felt so exhausted even when I've not done anything at all requiring my physical strength or so. You would say today is my lazy day :)

Anyway, here's to share some snapshots of the longest hanging foot bridge I've ever seen to date. Hanging bridges seem to be common in the countryside and although I've seen and crossed a few of them, this is one that fascinated me and making me feeling so scared at the same time.

We were traveling towards the Skyline View Deck in Quirino Ilocos Sur when somewhere down the riverside in the valley, the bridge caught our attention so we pulled over for a wee adventure. The husband, my nephews and my niece were excited that they were quick to climb up and I stayed down just looking up at them. What can I say? I'm a scaredy cat, LOL! At least some people have the guts to walk through it. No one amongst them dared to cross it from end to end though. That might be because we only had some 20 minutes to spare as we were trying to be on the Skyline before the sun sets.

Perhaps the bridge was constructed for the residents to use during the rainy days. It seemed the place had been flooded previously and the narrow road leading to the residential areas had some damages although it is still passable by light vehicles considering that the water on the river is not much considering it is now the dry season.

I couldn't find any information online on how long the bridge is and what year it may have been constructed but the husband thinks it might be one kilometer long. Per GMap, the hanging foot bridge is located along the Namitpit-Legleg Riverside Road and it is suspended by steel cables over the Lagben River.

How about you, would you climb up that bridge and dare cross it?

Thank you and have a fantastic day (night)!
