Vietnam is very vegan friendly and cheap. Highly recommended for vegan tourism.

I have vsited Vietnam recently and I was very positively surprised with how vegan friendly it is. It is not like Europe, where you have clear labels and plenty of clearly vegan products at the market, but even in small cities they have vegetarian restaurants with vegan options.

With a few days you start noticing patterns, like restaurants with the word "chay" (vegetable) are usually vegetarian, and that helps!

The food is also very cheap. I ate outside every single meal and used to end the day with delivery and I would rarely spend more than 20 USD for a whole day of eating, some days were even sub 10 USD.

Of course it is not all sunshine and rainbows because some places are not clear about the vegan options and even in some vegetarian restaurantes the staff may not understand what makes a meal vegan or not, so you need to be careful. I did accidentaly get a coffee with milk and the staff couldn't understand what was wrong, so accidents may happen!

Overall I highly recommend Vietnam, amazing views both for nature and cities, very affordable place, very friendly and welcoming people (as a brazilian they remind me of my own people) and off course, delicious and easy to find cheap vegan meals. Can't recommend Vietnam enough. Go whenever you have the chance, I fell in love with the country and food is one of the reasons why!
