Hello Hive,
It's a pleasure to be here in this my adorable community, @homesteading. Here, we have chances to express about all our gardening and farming practices, processes, our desires, experiences and knowledge about planting of different types of seeds and how far we have gone about our animal husbandries, of which i want to share with us.
Yeah... The kids are now sucking and eating grasses, they survived
Here, one is totally free to showcase the news of our seed planting, harvesting of our different choices of crops, as well as the discussions we exchange here on how our animal husbandry and farm or garden activities are progressing. We have seen how we're progressing as we practice all these continually.
Not too long ago, i expressed the experience i had about sustaining my two kid goats with the popular "Cow bell sachet milk" feeding them by myself with the feeding bottles i bought specifically for them about this purpose.
The mother goat had twin kid goats last year but she refused to breast feed her kid goats, i was confused and kept asking everyone even in this community about what i can do for the mother goat to be able to breast feed her kids but to no avail, many told me that they don't know what can be done to convince the mother goat to breastfeed her kids. It supposed to be a voluntary activity for her as a mammal she is.
It was very pathetic, that the new born kids were hungry for three good days, i was afraid and don't know what to do about the situation, they died after three days, i lost my twin kid goats. That was last year. It pained me terribly, i felt like a human being died i nearly sold her away, but held on.. After some months again, she concieved and has delivered another twin kid goats this year. Thank God!!
She has again refused breastfeeding her twin kid goats. I became very much apprehensive and worried on what i can do to persuade her to feed her lovely kids. Since it's not a human being that can hear me speak or talk to her on how i feel.
One elderly man came to help me by lifting her two hands up while the kids suck her breasts by force. I was not satisfied about this and then how many times a day can anyone do this for their perfect satisfactions, i was not quite ok with this method, i now decided to try satchet milk, you know that it's said,
"NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTIONS"
I quickly processed an improvised breast milk by mixing hot water with cow bell milk, carrying them like any human baby on my laps to feed them morning and evening since one month now, surprisingly, they were sucking through the feeding bottles though by my forcing them to take it.
I'm so glad i succeeded keeping them alive from this endeavors, now they're getting to two months in life. I mean, they will very soon have their two months birthday ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐.
Showing me that some hard and ugly situations forces out some qualities from us we never knew that are within us, experience has thought me this process and it's very beneficial, look at how healthy they are in just a Month plus some weeks time. They didn't die like their siblings did last year, I'm excited.
This is my live story about nursing my kid goats to life even when it was impossible to achieve this. I even noticed that kid goats germinate teeth even before their one month of life, as time went on, she agreed to allow them suck her breasts, these days.
They have started eating grasses like their mother and her counterparts, they eat grasses as well suck breast milk and are very healthy, and happy now and i am happy too.
Pictures are mine,
Thank you so much for every support given to me by comments and so on,.
