I can say that I was never trully a fan of the pelacor mercenary. The only use I can see with him is at 1st position, and with such an array of tank monsters to choose from that cost around the same mana - This card is essentially worthless at lvl 1. Here is a better option:

For 1 more mana you get melee shield, 3 armor and 3 damage.. Mycelic infantry is an essential card for the low level battles.
