En blanco y negro, en cambio, la sensación es otra: más nostálgica, como si las imágenes pertenecieran a un recuerdo lejano. Me gusta pensar que ahí es donde guardan sus secretos, en esa versión más silenciosa y atemporal.

Estas fotos son solo el inicio de una serie fotográfica que quiero hacer con este estilo. La ventaja es que, viviendo en Cuba, los autos antiguos forman parte de nuestro paisaje diario, así que tengo modelos de sobra para seguir explorando y jugando con las ediciones en color y en blanco y negro.

Today I want to share with you some photos that have me completely captivated: vintage cars I came across and decided to capture from two different perspectives, in color and in black and white. I wanted something different from what I usually post, a little trip back in time through these classic cars I photographed with my phone camera. I don’t know what it is about them, but every time I see these cars, I feel like they’re telling stories, as if they’ve traveled through streets full of life and secrets that now only linger in their curves and colors. In color, they look vibrant, showing off the best of their shapes and details. The rust, the worn paint, the sunlight reflections… everything stands out and gives them a unique kind of life. In black and white, on the other hand, the feeling changes, more nostalgic, as if the images belonged to a distant memory. I like to think that’s where they keep their secrets, in that quieter and timeless version. These photos are just the beginning of a series I want to create in this style. The great advantage is that, living in Cuba, vintage cars are part of our everyday landscape, so I have more than enough “models” to keep exploring and playing with edits in both color and black and white. I’m sharing these images because, beyond the cars themselves, they made me reflect on how our feelings change depending on how we look at things. And yes, sometimes the old can also be the most beautiful.
