I love playing horseshoes. I love a little easygoing game. I love a little bit of movement and being around folks and nothing being hard. That's what horseshoes feels like.
Horseshoes have a very satisfying heft. We had horses growing up, but not shoed.
Horseshoe above the doorway. Gotta keep them with the ends pointing up to hold the luck in. Otherwise the luck, like a liquid, runs out the ends of the horseshoe. Weird little superstitions.
I guess all the superstitions are weird. Pick up a penny for luck, but only if it's heads up.
Don't step on cracks. Breaking mirrors is bad luck. I mean, besides the bad luck of now having a mirror that's broken. Or walking under a ladder, besides it being a little dangerous.

The 4 leaf clover thing makes sense. They're rare and they're just nice in general, clovers, so sure, yeah. But a lot of this other stuff is ... befuddling. Where do they come from
Horseshoes come from horse cobblers. Horse cobbler is not as good as peach cobbler. I mean, I've never had- farrier. That's the word I was looking for. Probably a smith actually made it, but farriers are using it. Ferrier? farrier. hm. Dunno.
