Hello everyone, for some time now I've been wanting to talk about a book, well, it's a novel itself, one that came into my hands a few years ago and, beyond the subject matter it deals with, my opinion on it is about the way in which each of the emotions it tells within are transmitted, and well, on this occasion and being my first review, I'll tell you a little about "La sumisa insumisa" by the writer Rosa Peñasco.
>Hola a todos, desde hace algún tiempo estaba con ganas de hablar de un libro, bueno, en sí es una novela, uno que llegó a mis manos hace algunos años y que, más allá del tema del que trata, mi opinión al respecto es sobre la forma en la que se transmiten cada una de las emociones con las que cuenta este en su interior, y bueno, en esta ocasión y siendo mi primera reseña, les comentaré un poco sobre "La sumisa insumisa" de la escritora Rosa Peñasco.
This novel was published in 2006 by Suma; however, the version I have is from 2008 by Santillana. I must say that it's one of my first books with a thick cover and a small dust jacket, which I feel gives it a more aesthetic and representative style. It also includes a short, rather explanatory biography about the author. As a curious fact, this book won the 2006 Kutxa Ciudad de Irún Literary Prize.
>Esta novela tiene su fecha de publicación en el 2006 por parte de la editorial Suma; sin embargo, la versión que tengo es del 2008 por parte de Santillana. Debo decir que es de mis primeros libros con una portada gruesa y una pequeña cubierta, la cual siento que le da un estilo más estético y representativo, además de que nos trae una pequeña biografía en esta sobre la autoría bastante explicativa. Como dato curioso, este ejemplar posee el premio literario Kutxa Ciudad de Irún 2006.
This tells the story of Paula, a woman at a stage in her life where, among several hobbies, she feels a deep curiosity about exploring and feeling beyond her innocence and midlife crises. She finds herself embroiled in an adventure that isn't for many, but that will lead her to understand and discover herself in many ways. The themes of this one are primarily the well-known BDSM or erotic art, as it seeks to convey messages through an unusual interpretation.
>En este se nos cuenta la historia de Paula, una mujer que está en una etapa de su vida donde, entre varias aficiones, siente una gran curiosidad con respecto a explorar y sentir más allá de esa inocencia y las crisis de la edad, por lo que se ve envuelta en una aventura que no es para muchos, pero que la llevará a entender y descubrirse de muchas maneras. Los tópicos de este son más que todo el conocido BDSM o arte erótico, ya que busca dar mensajes a través de una interpretación poco usual.
The subject matter of this story is written to be free of taboos and censorship for the viewer, as it deals with open topics, which is a clear invitation to read without fear. Indeed, it's not a novel for all ages, as the goal, in my opinion, is to help us identify with that fear of self-discovery and to let go of those age-old prejudices so deeply embedded in society.
>La temática de esta historia está escrita para no tener tabúes ni censura hacia el espectador, ya que trata temas de forma abierta, que es una invitación clara a leer sin miedo. En efecto, no es una novela para todas las edades, ya que de por sí el objetivo, desde mi punto de vista, es llegar a sentirnos identificados con ese miedo a descubrirnos y soltar un poco esos prejuicios de antaño y tan marcados para la sociedad.
It's a journey through what loneliness is like, almost reaching thirty for many, and how it affects us, as well as the steps we least expect can lead us to moments that are only up to us to take or not. The narrative and the boldness of the words manage to captivate and draw you into the plot, so the balance between even feeling embarrassed while reading and understanding each paragraph of what happens in the protagonist's life is crucial to even finding some points of agreement with today's world.
>Es un viaje de lo que es la soledad, casi llegando a los treinta para muchos, y cómo esta afecta, así como los pasos que menos pensamos nos pueden llevar a vivir momentos que solo está en nosotros tomar o no. La narrativa y lo atrevido de las palabras logran envolver mucho y meterte en la trama, por lo que el balance entre incluso sentir vergüenza al leer y comprender cada párrafo de lo que pasa en la vida de la protagonista es crucial para incluso llegar a tener algunos puntos de coincidencia con el mundo actual.
For someone like me, who had never read books of this type, just getting into it was a direct blow to the way I think, and going little by little as it progresses, leaving behind the fear of perhaps reading something I didn't know and the explicitness in the words, so in the end it is a perfect way to understand and come to see it conceptually, beyond an erotic plot.
>Para alguien como yo, que no había leído libros de este tipo, el apenas adentrarme fue un golpe directo a la forma en como pienso, y ir poco a poco conforme avanza, dejando el temor de quizás leer algo que no conocía y lo explícito en las palabras, por lo que al final es una forma perfecta de comprender y llegar a verlo de manera conceptual, más allá de una trama erótica.
Personally, after reading it, it became one of my favorites, because, through the story and the rawness of the words, it's something I often share with those closest to me, creating a moment of laughter for the most embarrassed and curiosity for the most daring. It has a good message if we can understand and grasp it beyond the risqué tone and the psychology present in the expressions and behavior; it captivated me well.
>En lo personal, luego de leerlo, se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos, puesto que, desde la historia y la desnudez de las palabras, es algo que suelo incluso compartir con mis más cercanos, haciendo un momento de risas para los más apenados y de curiosidad para los más atrevidos. Tiene un buen mensaje si lo podemos entender y captar más allá de lo subido de tono y la psicología presente en las expresiones y comportamiento; me supo atrapar bien.
