Trying hot dogs at a new place with my sister | Probando perritos calientes en local nuevo con mi hermana

Hello everyone, a few days ago, while I was with my sister looking for sweets and unusual snacks, we came across a small place in a hidden alley in the city center, where there are several different fast food places, and in this one they had several fast food options. >Hola a todos, hace unos días, mientras estaba con mi hermana buscando dulces y snacks curiosos, nos topamos con un pequeño local en un callejón escondido en el centro de la ciudad, donde hay varios locales de comida rápida variados, y en este tenían varias opciones de comida rápida.    In previous posts, we'd already tried a burger deal from another restaurant in this same alley. Since we'd walked a long way and were a bit tired, we took advantage of the opportunity to see what it was like. After seeing the prices, we ventured to try something from the menu. Among the options were double burgers, large gherkins, a sausage and fries, and a deal of two hot dogs with yellow cheese, each for $2. >En anteriores posts ya habíamos degustado una promo de hamburguesas de otro local de este mismo callejón. Y como habíamos caminado mucho y estábamos algo cansadas, aprovechamos a ver qué tal era, por lo que al ver los precios nos aventuramos a probar algo del menú. Y es que entre las opciones estaban hamburguesas dobles, pepiperros grandes, salchipapa y promo de dos perros con queso amarillo, cada una de estas opciones por 2 $.  And this time, following tradition and also because of our budget, we ordered the two-hot-dog special, also because these had yellow cheese, and for that price here in San Juan, we absolutely had to try them. Once we ordered them, we sat down to wait for them, and they didn't take long, even considering the time, which was almost 6 p.m., and ours was the last order, as they were almost closing. It's interesting that they mostly operate in the afternoon. >Y en esta ocasión, siguiendo la tradición y también por el presupuesto que teníamos, pedimos la promo de los dos perritos calientes, también porque estos tenían queso amarillo y por ese precio acá en San Juan teníamos sí o sí que probarlos. Una vez los pedimos, nos sentamos para esperarlos y no tardaron mucho, incluso por la hora, que ya eran casi las 6 de la tarde, y justo la de nosotras era la última orden, ya que estaban casi cerrando, por lo que es curioso que trabajen más que todo en horario de la tarde.   Once they brought us the hot dogs, I must say they looked very good, as well as being a good size. After dividing one for each of us and getting the sauces to put on them, we proceeded to try them. They had a mild flavor, but there was something about them that gave them a hint of spice. With the first bite, my sister was delighted, and when she added the sauces, one with cheese and the other with a kind of spicy guacamole that enhanced the flavor even more, she gave them an even bigger thumbs-up. >Una vez nos trajeron los perritos; debo decir que tenían muy buen aspecto, así como buen tamaño, y luego de dividirnos uno para cada una y que nos trajeran las salsas para colocarles, procedimos a probarlos. Tenían un sabor suave, pero había algo que los hacía tener un toque de picor. Con el primer mordisco, mi hermana quedó encantada de una y, al añadirles las salsas, que eran una de queso y otra una especie de guasacaca picosa que le realzaba más el sabor, le dio ese aprobado aún más grande.   Likewise, the yellow cheese flavor was very present. It's interesting because they weren't strong or heavy, but you could still taste them. They came with a good portion of potatoes and salad, but they complemented each other well; neither was more or less. Something that surprised me was the bread and the sausage, since for promotions like this, the sausage usually comes with a peculiar flavor, or small, or the bread is somewhat hard. However, aside from being good-sized and tasty, there was this bread that was soft, not because of the amount of sauce, but because it's been heated through that little bit of heat they make. >Así mismo, el sabor de queso amarillo estaba muy presente. Es curioso porque no caían fuertes o pesados, pero se les sentía todo el sabor. Estaban con una buena porción de papas y ensalada, pero se complementaban bien; ni una era más ni otra menos. Algo que me sorprendió fue el pan y la salchicha, ya que para promos así suelen venir o la salchicha con un sabor peculiar, o pequeña, o el pan algo duro; sin embargo, aparte de tener buen tamaño y salidad, estaba este pan que es suave, no por la cantidad de salsas, sino porque está pasado por ese calentadito que le hacen.  Obviously, for just one combo for both of us, we were left wanting more, and I personally want to try the burger they sell the most because of a long-standing craving, so we plan to go back, but with our friend. The fact that they open early makes it easier for us to go, or even for us to take our grandma, since it's right near a cart stop where I saw it. Even so, my sister gave it a 10, saying that they're better than the ones at the place we usually go to on our getaways. >Obviamente, para un solo combo para ambas, quedamos con ganas de más y yo personalmente quiero probar la hamburguesa que venden más por un antojo de hace mucho, por lo que planeamos volver, pero con nuestro amigo, además de que el hecho de que estén activos desde bien temprano permite que sea más fácil para nosotras ir o incluso que podamos llevar a nuestra abuela, ya que está bien cerca de una parada de carritos hacia donde vi. Aun así, mi hermana le dio una puntuación de 10, diciendo que son mejores que los del sitio al que solemos ir en nuestras escapadas.  In my case, I'm also giving them a score, this time a 9, because I still like the other ones, as they knock me out because of how much they arrive. However, these also have their own charm, and both places definitely get my approval, both for their sauces and their flavor, and of course, the service, since this one was also very friendly and attentive, even despite the late hour. >En mi caso también les doy una nota, esta vez un 9, porque me siguen gustando los otros, ya que esos me dejan fuera de combate por lo mucho que llegan; sin embargo, también estos tienen su gran encanto, y sin duda ambos lugares tienen mi visto bueno, tanto por salsas como por sabor y, claro, la atención, ya que en este local también fueron muy amables y atentos, incluso a pesar de la hora.  --- So, well, this was our experience tasting this delicious combo and spending some time between my sister and me from the afternoon errands, so I hope you like it and thanks for reading. >Así que bueno, esta fue nuestra experiencia degustando este rico combo y pasando un rato de descanso de las diligencias de la tarde entre mi hermana y yo, por lo que espero sea de su agrado y gracias por leer.
