Good Day lovely needleworkers How're you doing? Hope you're all having a lovely week already Today is Monday and its for beautiful needleworks, I'm so delighted to publish a post in this community 🤎 In respect to Today, I'd love to shar with you the steps I used in making this dress to attend a coloured picnic with my friends . In my journey of Getting to meet with new people I was introduced to a group of responsible ladies and a picnic was a way to get to know ourselves. I thought of what to wear to look Good so as to create a good first impression and I came across this simple white dress and proceeded to making it at once .

I already had my white fabric of about 1 yard at home, I know you'll be like "how was one yard enough for a dress" I'm actually slim and that's an advantage, also, when it comes to managing fabric count me amongst the best😂. Okayy so I got my zipper and my thread ready and I proceeded to making it

First step was to cut the upper part of the dress since it has a half length, I marked out my shoulder, bust and waistline and drafted it out after which I cut out 5 inches from the upper part since it was going to be an off shoulder

After cutting out the front, I placed it on another fabric and cut out another one which served as the back including a zipper allowance for ease

After cutting the upper part, I proceeded to cutting the lower part , I marked my waist measurement, hip line which I marked my hips measurement and then my full length and then added extra inches so that I can pleat part of it inside

After that, I placed it on another fabric to cut out the back side adding the same inches for zipper allowance as I did for the top and then divided it to make it one for each side

After cutting, I starting joining, I cut out a facing for the upper part and then turned the neckline with it since I wasnt going to use a lining, since I was adding rope sleeves for the dress before I completed the facing, I cut out a rope and turned it to avoid rough edges

I cut out two of it so I can use on the two different sides after which I attached it to the dress After that , I held my darts and then joined the upper front with the lower front and then did same with the back side To complete the look of this dress, I attached a zipper and hemmed the lower part with my hem gum and that was all with the dress I wore it to the picnic and this is what I looked like

I really had fun with my new friends and I'm glad I dressed well💙 Thank you so much for stopping by, I'm grateful 🤍
