Good Day Beautiful people of this lovely community Hope You're all doing well I wish you all a fruitful new week💜 So today, I'll love the share with you the steps I used in making this cooperate dress for myself for my FYB week

FYB week meaning final year brethrens week are for students in their final year, During final exams, different kinds outfits are being selected to use for each of the exams ranging from cooperate , Jersey, Denim , Vintage, Ankara and then the final day is for the sign out For cooperate day, I had nothing to wear and was so confused but as a fashion designer, I don't think I can never slack when it comes to wearing the best. So I came across this style inspiration on TikTok and saw that it was quite simple yet beautiful and I proceeded to making it at once I had this blue crepe fabric and that's what I used in the making

Here are the steps I used in making it . This dress was going to have a half length that why I started the drafting from the upper part I marked my basics body measurements ranging from my shoulder which is 14 divided by 2 which is 7, I marked my chest line measurement which I used to get my armhole and from there I marked my bust measurement divided by 4 after which i marked my waist measurement on my half length. I cut out the front side with the neckline I want and then placed the front on another fabric to get the back. Unlike other dresses I didn't add a zipper allowance since the material was stretchy and wouldn't need a zipper and then cut it out with my desired neckline.

Proceeding to the lower part of the dress , I folded my fabric as usual and marked my waist line, hip line which was 8 inches and full length of the dress including hem allowance. I marked my waist measurement on my waist line , my hip measurement on my hip line and then connect the lines and cut it out. After cutting it out, it served as the back side since I was going to add allowance at the front for the slit I had . I placed the back on a new fabric and cut out the front adding one inch allowance for the front slit. I also cut the front out

At this point I started joining them together, the upper front and the lower front together, the upper back and the lower front together.

After joining them I proceeded cutting the fake Pocket that was to be attached at the front, the longer part was 4 inches and the shorter part was 5 inches so that if bent it becomes 2 and a half .

I attached the pockets to the front side before joining the front and back together. At this point I was already done , I just had to turn the sleeveless with another fabric to make it neat and the hem all that needed to be hemmed and did some other finishing touches with the dress and this was the beautiful outcome

Thank you so much for stopping by I hope I did a Nice Job Bye everyone till next time 💖
