I had a good debate with myself about this title. I mean I just wrote the title about 3weeks back and ever since then I would sit infornt of the screen staring for about 15-20mins and go for Ctrl+N and write some nonsense for the sake of writing.
And I guess I am not the only one who does this. I see this behaviour everywhere. Just take a look at the highest-grossing films of 24 and 25. You might find heavy grossers like Pushpa2 and Kalki. Massive hits but still a lackluster. You may find it shining in the reviews too, but in my honest opinion, they are nothing but glamorous garbage. I am clarifying again, I am making a comment on the movie as a final product and not criticising the performance of any particular individual. Why hasn't there been a movie that feels inspiring as an art form? I am talking about a very unique style.. Something that's a visual treat and satisfying. I mean I'd give credits where its due, Brahmaastra the VFXs were stunning, terrible plot and dialogue made the movie challenging to sit through. But if there be any part 2 I would keep my protest against nonsense movies on hold for sometime to go and watch that. You guys remember ‘300’ or ‘SinCity’ or “A Scanner Darkly” no matter what the story was it was nice to look at and I might say such visuals often help the story. I understand not every movie can be groundbreaking but lately it feels like nobody is putting in effort. There is a slight chance this is all because of the manga reading that I had been doing. But let's put that aside for a while
Source I saw an interview couple of days back where the producer was crying about the movie as it bombed and blamed it on the film maker for not doing a good job, while the direct blamed it on the team, stating that they would have put efforts while making if the amount that was offered was worthy of it and how the actor charging a big sum of money has left the movie with low to no budget. That begs the question: Is money holding art as hostage? Because sometimes it does feel like that. If that's the case, how come some of the big-money projects are still bombing?
Source And not just that, I seein that everywhere else. Let it be music or comedy or dance or food. Everything seems to be a copy of trending stuff. And Its annoying, frustrating and depressing. Not sure may be I am wrong? Maybe art has nothing to do with money its just people being greedy. Whatever it is I think I cannot answer this question so I pose the question to the people of the Hive, especially the artists like filmmakers, musicians, writers, or my reader just tag someone you know who would be able to answer this question. @vincentnijman @whatamidoing @soulturtle
Hey Folks
And I had been very interested in cinema for a long time.
I love reviewing them, watching them, and discussing them, and it's time that do something about this interest. I dont know where to start.
