Here we are in Chalon-sur-Saône, the birthplace of Nicéphore Niepce, born on March 7, 1765. Without him, the magic of photography might never have become part of our everyday lives!
To start exploring the city, the best place to begin is the tourist office, where you can pick up a leaflet dedicated to the Chemin de l’Orbandale. This name, both medieval and poetic, once referred to the city.
Best of all, the route is marked on the ground with 35 arrows set into the pavements, guiding you through the streets and past the city’s most iconic sites.

Nous voici à Chalon-sur-Saône, ville natale de Nicéphore Niepce, né le 7 mars 1765. Sans lui, la magie de la photographie ne ferait peut-être pas partie de notre quotidien !
Pour partir à la découverte de la ville, un bon point de départ est l’office de tourisme, où vous trouverez un fascicule dédié au Chemin de l’Orbandale. Ce nom, à la fois médiéval et poétique, désignait autrefois la ville.
Cerise sur le gâteau : ce parcours est balisé au sol par 35 flèches incrustées dans les trottoirs, vous guidant à travers les ruelles et les sites emblématiques du centre-ville.
