This morning, our son took us to discover Nakajima Park, located south of Sapporo. It’s a vast, peaceful green space, much loved for its cherry blossoms in spring and its fiery maples in autumn.
Among its treasures is Hōhei Kan House, an elegant Western-style building from the Meiji era. Once a residence for prestigious guests, it reflects an important part of Japanese history. Its architecture stands out from the landscape while blending perfectly with the surrounding nature.
A little further on, the Statue of Tenderness, depicting a mother and child, evokes softness and protection. It adds to the calming atmosphere of the place.
Between heritage, art, and nature, Nakajima Park is a true haven of serenity in the heart of the city — and we fully enjoyed it!

Ce matin, notre fils nous emmène découvrir le parc Nakajima, au sud de Sapporo. C’est un vaste espace vert paisible, très apprécié pour ses cerisiers au printemps et ses érables flamboyants en automne.
Parmi ses trésors, on trouve la maison Hōhei Kan, un élégant bâtiment de style occidental datant de l’ère Meiji. Ancienne résidence destinée à recevoir des invités prestigieux, elle témoigne d’un pan important de l’histoire japonaise. Son architecture se détache du paysage tout en s’harmonisant parfaitement avec la nature environnante.
Un peu plus loin, la statue de la tendresse, représentant une mère avec son enfant, évoque douceur et protection. Elle ajoute à l’atmosphère apaisante du lieu.
Entre patrimoine, art et nature, Nakajima Park est un concentré de sérénité au cœur de la ville – et on en a pleinement profité !
