The Yosakoi Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the year in Sapporo. Every summer, it draws thousands of visitors and dancers from all over the country. For a few days, the city’s streets turn into a massive open-air show, bursting with color, music, and energy.
And right in the middle of it all… us! What a stroke of luck to experience this from the inside. It’s really something you have to see at least once in your life.
The vibe is festive, relaxed, and very family-friendly. Smiling, supportive spectators cheer on the dance teams with enthusiasm.
I’ve said it before in a previous post, but this memory will stay with me forever. A true burst of culture, joy, and togetherness.

Le festival Yosakoi est l’un des événements les plus attendus de l’année à Sapporo. Chaque été, il attire des milliers de visiteurs et de danseurs venus de tout le pays. Pendant quelques jours, les rues de la ville se transforment en un immense spectacle à ciel ouvert, vibrant de couleurs, de musique et d’énergie.
Et au milieu de tout ça… nous ! Quelle chance d’avoir pu vivre ce spectacle de l’intérieur. C’est vraiment quelque chose à voir au moins une fois dans sa vie.
L’ambiance est à la fois festive, zen et très familiale. Les spectateurs, souriants et bienveillants, encouragent les troupes avec enthousiasme.
Je l’ai déjà dit dans un précédent post, mais ce moment restera gravé dans ma mémoire. Un vrai concentré de culture, de joie et de partage.
