Our day began with an early start at Central Station’s Chalmers Street entrance, where we boarded the 07:25 AM BMT line train bound for Katoomba. The journey took approximately two hours, offering scenic views as we left the city behind. For those planning a similar trip, trains to Katoomba depart every 30 minutes before 9 AM and then hourly thereafter.

Upon arriving in Katoomba, we walked about 300 meters to the bus stop to catch the 686 bus heading towards Echo Point Lookout. The short bus ride brought us to a vantage point where the lush greenery of the Blue Mountains unfolded before us. From the bus stop, a 700-meter walk led us to the iconic Three Sisters rock formation.

Despite forecasts predicting rain, we were fortunate to find the weather merely overcast, allowing for clear views of the landscape. Visiting on a Monday meant fewer tourists, providing a more serene experience.

Before reaching the main viewpoint, we stopped at Echo Point Lookout—captured in the photo above. The scene was stunning: rolling forested valleys, low-hanging clouds drifting across the cliffs, and an informative sign pointing out surrounding landmarks.

Though the sky was overcast, the view remained clear, with the clouds adding a magical touch to the landscape. We spent about 30 minutes here taking photos and soaking in the scenery. It was my first time experiencing such a vast and dramatic natural view, and it truly left a lasting impression.

Upon reaching Katoomba Falls, we were greeted by a picturesque waterfall cascading over rocks, surrounded by diverse flora. Although the water flow wasn't particularly strong, the setting was tranquil and inviting. The cool temperatures deterred us from wading into the water, but we relished the peaceful ambiance for over 30 minutes.
