3 cosas que me gustan de donde vivo

 Vivir en una ciudad pequeña tiene sus ventajas y desventajas, las segundas pesan bastante sobre todo cuando se trata de oportunidades económicas o de búsqueda de desarrollo académico y profesional, pero aun con todo eso, las ventajas o las cosas buenas que puedo apreciar de este lugar son los suficientemente fuertes como para considerar que este es un buen sitio, por eso me pareció muy interesante la iniciativa [Letras Inspiradoras](https://inleo.io/@syllem/letras-inspiradoras-3-cosas-que-62b709648d8d2) de @syllem, quien nos motiva a compartir 3 cosas que amamos del lugar donde vivimos, yo por mi arte no podría decir que son cosas que ame pero definitivamente son cosas que considero muy importantes y son precisamente estas las que me hacen permanecer aquí por ahora 😊. If you like the idea I invite you to participate @yetsimar @chacald.dcymt  # La tranquilidad Haya un dicho que dicen que pueblo pequeño significa infierno grande, pero yo considero que no siempre se cumple tal cosa, Carora que es la ciudad donde vivo es una pequeña pero tranquila en muchos sentidos, se podría decir coloquialmente que aquí no pasa nada, aun cuando la violencia y la inseguridad crecen en todo el país el nivel de aquí es bajo si lo comparamos con las grandes ciudades, de hecho cuando algo muy grave pasa toda la gente se escandaliza porque no es algo que ocurra con frecuencia, incluso cuando hay protestas políticas en todo el país aquí nunca ha habido mayores altercados violentos y eso da una sensación de tranquilidad que es muy valiosa, sobre todo porque desde que soy madre siento que es mejor criar a mi hijo en un lugar donde no de tanto miedo salir a la calle. > # Tranquility > > There's a saying that a small town means a big hell, but I don't think that's always true. Carora, the city where I live, is small but peaceful in many ways. You could colloquially say that nothing happens here. Even though violence and insecurity are on the rise throughout the country, the level here is low compared to big cities. In fact, when something very serious happens, everyone is shocked because it's not a common occurrence. Even when there are political protests across the country, there have never been major violent clashes here, and that gives a sense of tranquility that is very valuable, especially because since I became a mother, I feel it's better to raise my son in a place where it's not so scary to go out.  # Puedo ir a todos lados caminando Aquí en mi ciudad obviamente también hay transporte público como en cualquier otra, pero por experiencia de haber estudiado por muchos años en la capital de mi estado, puedo decir que una de las cosas que más me desesperaba en esa época era la imposibilidad de poder llegar a pie a algún sitio, me refiero que si había paro de transporte eso te imposibilitaba casi por completo de asistir a clases al menos que tuvieras un carro particular, esa sensación no me gusta para nada, pero aquí en Carora vivo en una parte céntrica, pero además tengo la certeza que incluso si me quedara varada en la entrada de la ciudad sé que podría llegar caminando a mi destino aun cuando viviera en una zona mas alejada del centro, no necesitaría subir en un autobús y viajar por una hora como por ejemplo del oeste de Barquisimeto hasta centro, se que no estamos en un apocalipsis zombie pero ya experiencia hemos tenido en el país de no tener combustible en los vehículos, así que vivir en una ciudad en donde puedo caminar para llegar a mi casa me hace sentir segura. > # I can walk everywhere > > Here in my city, obviously, there's public transportation like anywhere else, but from experience, having studied for many years in my state's capital, I can say that one of the things that frustrated me the most at that time was the inability to walk anywhere. I mean, if there was a transportation strike, it would almost completely prevent you from attending classes unless you had a private car. I don't like that feeling at all. But here in Carora, I live in a central area, but I'm also certain that even if I were stranded at the entrance to the city, I know I could walk to my destination even if I lived in an area further from the center. I wouldn't need to get on a bus and travel for an hour, like, for example, from west of Barquisimeto to the center. I know we're not in a zombie apocalypse, but we've had experience in this country with not having enough fuel for vehicles, so living in a city where I can walk to get home makes me feel safe.  # Poca contaminación Se que si me lees vas a pensar a que soy una odiadora de las grandes ciudades, pero si hay algo que me importa muchísimo es el nivel de contaminación, en mi ciudad hay carros y motocicletas pero aun así siento que hay relativamente poca contaminación en el aire, me di cuenta de esto cuando me tocó estudiar en la capital de mi estado, allí me sorprendía como se ensuciaban los zapatos y además como incluso se ensuciaba mi rostro, al lavarme la cara podía sentir la suciedad solo por haber estado en el centro, para mi fue como un shock porque no sabía que el humo de los vehículos podía acumularse en las superficies de ese modo, porque aun cuando en mi ciudad el calor es algo normal y se suda bastante no sentía que mi piel se ensuciara tanto solo por caminar por las calles de centro, el haber crecido aquí me hizo notar esos detalles que podrían parecer muy simples, pero siento que toda persona merece vivir en un buen ambiente y lamentablemente en las grande ciudades hay demasiada contaminación. > # Low Pollution > > I know if you read this, you'll think I'm a big-city hater, but if there's one thing that matters a lot to me, it's the level of pollution. In my city, there are cars and motorcycles, but I still feel like there's relatively little air pollution. I realized this when I had to study in my state's capital. There, I was surprised at how dirty my shoes got, and even how dirty my face got. When I washed my face, I could feel the dirt just from being downtown. It was a shock for me because I didn't know that vehicle exhaust could accumulate on surfaces like that. Even though heat is normal in my city and you sweat a lot, I didn't feel like my skin got that dirty just from walking the streets of downtown. Growing up here made me notice those details that might seem very simple, but I feel that everyone deserves to live in a good environment, and unfortunately, in big cities, there's too much pollution.
