Saludos a todos, hace unos días atrás decidimos ayudar a una gatita de la calle que tenía dos crías, estos gatitos ya están bastante grandecitos, mi intención era quedarme con uno y dar en adopción el otro, pero conforme los días pasan nadie responde a mis anuncios y eso me tiene un poco triste. Por otro lado, una preocupación mayor es la madre de estos gatitos, la cual evidentemente estaba desnutrida además de estar lactando a sus bebés, la angustia mas grande es que los gatos machos que andan libremente por el sector la puedan embarazar de nuevo, así que hoy finalmente la pude llevar a la clínica para que la esterilizaran.
Greetings everyone, a few days ago we decided to help a stray cat with two kittens. These kittens are quite big now, and my intention was to keep one and put the other up for adoption, but as the days go by, no one responds to my posts, which makes me a little sad. On the other hand, a bigger concern is the mother of these kittens, who was clearly malnourished and nursing her babies. My greatest worry is that the male cats roaming freely in the area might impregnate her again, so today I was finally able to take her to the clinic to be spayed.
Esto ha sido un proceso difícil, porque aunque ya la gata tenemos días que en casa le damos comida e incluso le di un baño, ella sigue siendo de la calle y por lo tanto se sale y anda libremente por allí, por eso el día que la iba a llevar no pude porque parecía que había comido algo por allí y su estomago estaba muy lleno, yo hasta temía que ya la fuesen embarazado, pero ayer note que su estómago estaba desinflamado y me comuniqué de una con la veterinaria e hice cita para hoy.
This has been a difficult process, because even though we've been feeding the cat at home for a few days now, and I even gave her a bath, she's still a stray and therefore goes out and roams freely. That's why the day I was going to take her, I couldn't because it seemed like she'd eaten something and her stomach was very full. I was even afraid she might have gotten pregnant, but yesterday I noticed her stomach was less bloated, so I contacted the vet right away and made an appointment for today.
En la clínica le hicieron una ecografía para saber si estaba embarazada y resultó que no, así que eso fue un alivio, me fuese gustado esperar mas tiempo antes de la cirugía para que subiera mas de peso, pero la situación era ya casi de emergencia pues los gatos ya la estaban rondando y la misma doctora me confirmó luego de la operación que la gata ya estaba casi lista para entrar en celo por el estado de sus órganos, entonces fue el momento justo para evitar que pasara un embarazo.
At the clinic, they did an ultrasound to see if she was pregnant, and it turned out she wasn't, so that was a relief. I would have liked to wait longer before the surgery so she could gain more weight, but the situation was almost an emergency because the cats were already circling her, and the doctor herself confirmed after the operation that the cat was almost ready to go into heat due to the state of her organs. So it was the right time to prevent a pregnancy.
Yo no estaba buscando nuevas mascotas ni tener una gasto así de grande de forma tan inesperada, pero sinceramente me dio mucho dolor ver esos gatitos en ese estado, ya tengo a la gata en casa tomando su tratamiento para su completa recuperación, espero que cuando esté mejor se quede mas en casa y no vuelva a la calle, como yo no la crié desde pequeña no tiene la costumbre de mi otra gata que duerme adentro, sin embargo, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para que se adapte en un cuarto aparte de que tenemos mientras se cura, espero también que llegue una persona buena y quiera a adoptar un gatito en su vida. I wasn't looking for new pets or to have such a big expense so unexpectedly, but honestly, it broke my heart to see those kittens in that state. I already have the cat home receiving treatment for her full recovery. I hope that when she's better, she'll stay indoors more and not go back to the streets. Since I didn't raise her from a kitten, she doesn't have the habit of sleeping inside like my other cat. However, we're doing everything we can to help her adapt to a separate room we have while she heals. I also hope that a kind person comes along who wants to adopt a kitten. Wish her luck 🙏🏻
