Cesarean Section in Women

In this part of the world, we have attached a lot of negativity to Cesarean section procedures and this negative belief is why a lot of people would go to places of worship to pray against and some people go back after delivery to give testimonies that they put to bed like the Hebrew women without CS but I might not be certain but there is a high chance Israelis today undergo Cesarean section procedure, so I am trying to understand what could be going on. Given how quickly people pray against CS in this part of the world, one question I usually ask myself is, “Who is CS meant for then”. Ines Ramirez, was a Mexican woman who was pregnant and was in labor. Her husband wasn't close and the hospital was far from the village. She went into labor and realized that the labor was taking longer than normal. As she continued to push during the labor, she noticed it was taking longer and it was affecting both herself and the baby. She decided to take a kitchen knife and opened herself in the abdomen after which she brought out the baby. This was how she saved her life and that of the child. ![Blausen_0223_CesareanDelivery.png](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3f/Blausen_0223_CesareanDelivery.png) [wikimedia](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Blausen_0223_CesareanDelivery.png)

That said, when your doctor mentions C-section to you, it is not done to punish or put your life at risk. It is either done to save the life of the mother or that of the baby. One reason for CS most times is improper dilation of the cervix which could delay the progression of the labor and delivery of the child. The baby could get weakened in the stomach as a result of stress and when this becomes elongated, it can be detrimental to both mother and child.

A lot of times, the doctor will request you have a CS even before you go into labor as a result of the baby not having a proper heartbeat. The doctors can request that the mother undergo a C-section when they find out the fetal heart rate of the baby isn't beating properly which could either be too fast or too slow.

Improper positioning of a child is something that a lot of African women aren't aware of, and this is why are always scared for women who never did an Ultrasound during pregnancy and decide to put to bed in their homes. Improper positioning known as bridge position is one very important reason why your doctor would ask that you undergo a C-section.

If you wish to have twins or triplets and God gives it to you, then there is a high chance you will be going under the knife to ascertain that everyone is safe and the mother is not stressed. Another reason can be blockage of the cervix by the placenta, and with this, a CS can be done to deliver the baby after which the placenta can be delivered.

In the case where the mother has health issues, then it is difficult for her to deliver the child by herself, and at this point, a c-section can be a procedure of choice.
