I'm out and about today, post office, bank, UPS store, lunch, etc. It's a busy day, but I managed to bring home something special for my wife: a chicken sandwich. Just what the pregnant wife is craving!

These are our little beet sprouts, that will hopefully produce abundantly.
These are our squash plants, the white dust is diatomaceous earth, a soft siliceous powder that keeps slugs off the leaves.
I"m most excited about the sweet potatoes. We mounded up long rows of dirt and gently placed the sweet potato plants in the mounds. Now we keep them well watered and we should see their vines extend. The garden always looks best when it's first planted, now the trick is to keep the weeds down and get the plants bearing us good fruit!
