Saludos.

Greetings. Our friend @graciadegenios, in her post as columnist for a day, leaves us with an [invitation](https://peakd.com/hive-131951/@graciadegenios/columnista-por-un-dia-equilibrio-vital-5-claves-para-mi-bienestar-y-balance-columnist-for-a-day-vital-balance-5-keys-to-my-wel) to reflect on how we try to bring a little balance to our lives. Let me tell you... I really like this topic because this week, which ends tomorrow, has been extremely stressful for me. It all started when I decided to buy a new cell phone. The one I currently use is a little over five years old. It has been excellent, but it is starting to have battery problems. I have to charge it all the time, and it no longer accepts some applications. I got started on that, found out about the credit system that many people in Venezuela are using, some young friends gave me the reference of a virtual store where they had bought theirs, they told me how to do the transaction, and on Monday we made the purchase, depositing fifty percent of the down payment. The whole day passed and no one contacted me. I looked for the contact information on the website, sent messages, made calls, and nothing. My stress began to rise and my body started sending me signals that I was losing control. At times like these, what I do is go for a walk to clear my mind. Fortunately, it was sunny that day and the sky was very beautiful. That night, I had trouble falling asleep, thinking about why they hadn't contacted me. On Tuesday, when I woke up, I checked the different messaging services and nothing. To make matters worse, the internet went down, just when I needed it most to continue making arrangements for the purchase. Tuesday passed without any communication, and once again, stress began to overwhelm me. Once again, I went out for a walk, walking a little further than usual to tire my body out and see if that would help me sleep better. I went to bed, listened to relaxing music for a while, took a warm bath, made some chamomile tea, and sat down for a few minutes to meditate. I slept a little better. On Wednesday, I still had no internet, but a friend did me a favor and topped up my cell phone account so I could use data. Mid-morning, I received a voice message saying that they couldn't send me the product and asking if I would accept another one. I told them to cancel the purchase and refund my initial payment. The day passed, no one contacted me, the internet was still down, my HIVE activity was difficult, and my stress levels were reaching new heights. Since it wasn't too late, I called a neighbor friend and asked if I could visit him. I needed to do something different. We talked for a while, then I went for a walk on a fairly cool night. Walking at night also gives me a lot of peace. I used to do it more often, but now I do it very little. My vision problems increase the risk of falling with so many potholes on sidewalks and streets. On Thursday, the same situation, no information from the store. I had a scheduled visit from my internet provider's technical service, and I waited for no one to come and check it out. In the afternoon, I contacted the credit system people and told them about the problem with the store. They listened to me and promised to help me. That new conversation gave me some relief, and I decided not to pay any more attention to the matter. Yesterday, Friday afternoon, they returned my initial payment, but I still have intermittent internet service, and the technical service visit they promised me has not happened. Situations like the ones I have described have become part of our daily lives. It is unfortunate, but the reality is that there is very little commitment from people who provide important services; it seems that the concept of responsibility means little to them. Faced with such a scenario, we have to learn to live with it. There is no doubt that problems of this kind increase stress and undermine our mental balance, making it a Herculean task to stay afloat. However, each of us can find ways to stay centered and not become more destabilized than necessary. In my case, what I mentioned in the post works quite well for me. Going for a walk clears my mind a lot, and listening to music also relaxes me. If I have the opportunity to talk to someone over coffee, even better. These are simple mechanisms that are accessible to anyone. The important thing is to identify them and become aware of how they help improve our mood and contribute to strengthening our serenity. As my friend @graciadegenios says, living in balance is a journey. Let's find a way to travel that path. Thank you for your time.
