Often, we as farmers or gardening enthusiasts take it for granted. Especially for some who think that plants and vegetation are only for the talented, but I think gardening is easy for anyone, but...
But what? It takes consistency. Actually, plants and vegetation are very easy to cultivate at home, grow, care for, and even need to be talked to. They're just like humans, living and growing, even breathing. If they can breathe, they understand affirmations. I often do this with some of the plant and vegetable in my garden.
Consistency is a key strength for new to gardening at home or in the garden. Growing isn't just about plant seeds and then give water to them; you have to grow with your plants. Understand that your plants need what they need. We often forget that.
Before I let myself get lost in my garden, I felt the same way as beginners. Diligent in the beginning, but often feeling lazy after a while. But, it turns out that's a test for all gardeners, and yet, I allow myself to keep doing the same things, despite being incredibly lazy.
Like this time, my garden needed me to clean it all up. I started cleaning, even tying up some of the plants hanging from the fence. It turns out the monstera I started in 2019 is already so big. I didn't even expect it to thrive so well, but to this day, I've never eaten the fruit produce by the monstera because it hasn't produced any yet.
Like cacti, some can grow, but as you know, these types of plants will stay that way, not growing big, and I only want them as decoration, to look beautiful. All I do is talk to them and thank them for providing me with the visuals to enjoy as a beautiful sight. That's the cactus's purpose here.
All I often do is plant water spinach, which finally made it into this hydroponic Styrofoam box. They're growing very well and haven't even yellowed, so I'll just have to maintain them for the next two weeks.
Another exciting thing was seeing the tomatoes start to emerge one by one a month after I planted the tomato seeds. Finally, they were bearing fruit.
