Last week, I explain some important things in my garden, i just trying to sow kale seeds, which ultimately sprout very well. It turned out that everything went smoothly, even though the weather was often slightly cloudy and the sun barely appeared.
I don't mean it didn't appear, but it was blocked by thick, darker clouds. Without the blue sky and the turbulent white clouds of last August, this month, it rained more often and dark clouds than the sun outshined them. I don't know why, but perhaps the earth has become increasingly overwhelmed by human activity.
The kale looked very neatly lined up and had been growing for the past week. In the hydroponic growth phase of kale, this is a bit of a slow phase. The first week after sowing, it was indeed quite frustrating because the growth momentum was a bit slower.
But, it turns out I'm heading towards harvest time. Not because of the clusters of hydroponic boxes I planted kale in, but because of lettuce! I'm very happy because they're growing very well and are even fresher than in August.
Not just lettuce, but also broad-leafed mustard greens. Mustard greens are best paired with noodle soup and eggs. However, they're equally delicious when simply boiled or stir-fried.
That's a hydroponic report. But there's something even more interesting in my garden this time. You can see the difference between the two pictures below. Last week, I took a photo of my chili plants, which only had two small plants. I purposely didn't upload them because I'll use them for comparison later this week. It's been really fun keeping track of the developments around me, especially in my small garden.
The chilies appear ready to be harvested, but the quantity is still very small. That usually happens with the first harvest of chili plants. What I like is the type of chili I'm using; it's rounder and feels waterier. Could it be due to the rainfall and humidity? I've used this type of chili seed before, but the yield wasn't very large. However, I like this chili because when harvested, it's heavy and just the right weight.

NOW
I thought I'd give a little report about my garden this time. I'm also making a planting medium with soil mixed with rice husks. This would be especially helpful during the rainy season to prevent root rot. I'll be replacing some of the other plant pots with fresh potting mix.
