The first word I think of when I hear the word "Thailand" other than Lisa from Blackpink is FOODIE. Right? Or is that just me? No, I think everyone knowing that. Thailand is not just about Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, that everyone know. There is also one city that a center of civilization and a very prosper city, Ayutthaya.
That's the way the world, everything revolve on its axiss, like the earth orbit in the sun. Sometimes up, sometimes down, sometimes it's up again. Ayutthaya is once very large, with the famous Siam kingdom. Now, only ruins remain, take over by UNESCO to preserve its existence.
I go to Ayutthaya of last year. Remember the passing of the Queen Mother of the King of Thailand on October 24th, I reminiscing about some of the things I did and experienc in Thailand earlier that year. Like, what I ate in Ayutthaya.
Famous for its street food, which can be found everywhere, Ayutthaya has the same thing. Or is that really the case in Thailand? Street food is the star, and you can even find hidden gems that are perfect for a more expensive restaurant. Well, in Ayutthaya, this is what I ate during my 18 hours there.
I bought some interesting snacks labeled Halal. Of course, this is hard to find, even in Bangkok. Frozen food that ready to be fried and topped with a delicious sauce. Bangkok sauce is sweet and spicy at the same time, with a hint of cilantro, this is most importantly.
Then, my stomach was still not full. I continue look for other random food I find. It turns out Ayutthaya have a lot of simple, halal restaurants. There is one place not far from Ayutthaya Historical Park, it serve 100% authentic Thai dish, like basil chicken, coriander chicken, and pad Thai. However, the menu here is not write in English, so be sure to use your smartphone for check the menu LOL.
Next, for a dessert, I look for fresh fruit in Ayutthaya. Thailand is famous for their exotic fruit, sweet mix refreshing fruit. It a subtle sourness, but it's still incredibly delicious. The sweet isn't the only benefit. Add a little seasoning like a mixture of chili flake, salt, and sugar, add a bit of flavor. However, I'd like to remind the person prepare it not to add too much seasoning, as the flavor will become too over powering and and the fruit's not true flavor.
I finish with the fruit and continiu exploring Ayutthaya, waiting for the next train to arrive in Bangkok on time that evening.
