In this blog , I’ll be sharing how my family usually spends our leisure time together , those simple yet meaningful moments that truly make me appreciate being surrounded by loved ones.
This particular day happened right after the fiesta in our town. My relatives from Cebu City were still staying at my grandma’s house , so I decided to visit since my family also invited me to come over. The atmosphere was still lively from the celebration , laughter could be heard from every corner , and the smell of delicious leftover fiesta food filled the air. Everyone was relaxed , enjoying the calm after all the busy preparations and festivities.
When I arrived , my older cousins and the little ones were already gathered. The kids were huddled together , giggling as they practiced some dance moves. My uncle was there helping them choose the perfect TikTok music to use as their guide for the dance. It was so fun to watch how serious they were about it , they kept rehearsing their steps , making sure they moved in sync while also laughing at their little mistakes. My uncle , being the supportive “coach,” kept playing random songs until they found one that matched their energy.
As soon as my uncle picked the right music , the kids started dancing enthusiastically. Their confidence and joy were contagious! We couldn’t help but smile as we watched them , their happiness filled the room. It reminded me of how beautiful it is to see kids express themselves freely through dancing, without any worries or pressure.
In front of them sat my mom , my auntie , and my grandma , all proudly watching their little dancers perform. You could see the sparkle of joy in their eyes , that genuine happiness only family moments can bring.
After the kids finished their dance , it was my uncle’s turn to take the spotlight. He grabbed the microphone and started singing karaoke. My grandma , full of energy and always up for fun, stood up and began to dance! Soon , my other uncle joined in, and suddenly the whole place turned into a mini family concert and dance party. Everyone was laughing , clapping , and enjoying the moment , no fancy plans , just pure togetherness.
It’s moments like these that make me realize how precious family time is. No matter how busy we get , spending time with our loved ones keeps our hearts full and our bonds strong.
