Hi everyone!! My name is Cyrene, and I recently decided to use the username itzcyrene for one simple reason, I’ve always believed that ***simplicity is beauty.*** I didn’t want to overthink it or make it too complicated, so I just went with something that feels natural and easy to remember. For me, names don’t always need to be fancy or extraordinary; what matters is the story and passion behind them.
A little info about myself, I consider myself a constant discoverer of new things. I am a very curious person, and I like to explore different ideas, perspectives, and opportunities that can help me grow. Right now, I am a 3rd year college student majoring in BS Communication, and one of the biggest parts of my journey so far is being a journalist in our school campus. I’ve been doing it for three years now, and honestly, I can say it’s something that shaped not only my skills but also my confidence. Writing has always been my safe space. It’s my way of expressing myself, sharing stories that matter, and giving voice to thoughts that sometimes can’t be spoken out loud.
Ever since I joined our campus publication, I discovered how powerful words can be. Whether it’s writing about events, telling stories of people, or simply reflecting on life, I’ve found joy in putting emotions and ideas into words. For me, writing is not just a hobby, it’s a part of who I am, and aside from writing, I also love books. That’s why I felt excited when I learned about Hive.
I am also a pet lover, I have a puppy named Kitty, is it weird naming a puppy to a cat name? well the explanation to that is originally I wanted a cat, I really love cats and planned to buy one. However, one time I saw a puppy on the street homeless and it was so cute so I just decided to adopt it and take care of it, so I named it Kitty as an original cat lover girl.
I also love doing crochets whenever I am bored. Last summer, to past time I decided to crochet lots of stuff and sell it online, good thing it worked. Here are my sample packaging for the crochets I sold before.
**Why I Joined Hive**
To be honest, I didn’t know about Hive at first. I wasn’t even aware that there’s a community where people like me, who love to write, share, and express themselves could come together. It was actually my cousin who introduced me to Hive. She had just recently joined, and she told me about how amazing it is to share your passion here. At first, I was just listening, but then she explained that Hive is not only a platform to post but also a space where you can connect with others, learn, and grow as a creator.
Of course, the idea that you might receive rewards for sharing your work is a nice bonus, but for me, that’s not the main reason. What really drew me in was the thought that I could share different kinds of content and maybe find a safe corner of the internet where my thoughts, ideas, and stories could be appreciated. Writing, after all is very personal. I hope Hive can be that safe place for me, a place where I can be real, honest, and creative without fear of being misunderstood.
I also love to connect with others here who share not only blogs but also art, photography, stories, experiences, and so much more. As someone who is always curious and willing to discover new things, I’m excited to explore what this platform has to offer.

Starting something new can feel nervous, but it becomes lighter when there are people who are willing to extend their hands and guide you. I believe that writing and sharing stories is not just about the words themselves, but about building connections with people who can relate, be inspired, or simply enjoy what you’ve created.
