I mentioned before in my introduction that I have a pet dog which I adopted, and now I adopted another one. This time, a cat!
It has only been about two weeks since I got my cat, but it already feels like Nyx has been part of my life for a long time. I have always wanted to have a cat of my own, and finally, I was able to bring one home.

Nyx is a domestic shorthair, or what we also call a puspin here in the Philippines.

She has short gray fur and the most beautiful green eyes. From the first time I saw her, I knew she was the one I wanted to take home.
At first, I was a little nervous because it was my first time to really take care of a cat. I worried if she would adjust well, if I could give her everything she needed, and if she would feel at home with me. But when she arrived, I felt so happy.

Nyx was shy during the first day, hiding in corners and watching me from a distance. I gave her space and just let her explore the room on her own. Little by little, she became more comfortable, and now she freely roams around like she owns the place.
One of the things I love about Nyx is how playful she is. Even with simple things like a string, a ball, or even just a piece of paper, she will play with so much energy. I can watch her for a long time just running around and pouncing on small things. Her green eyes look so bright when she is focused on playing, and it makes me happy to see her having fun.

Nyx also has a very calm side. There are times when she just lies down quietly and watches what I am doing. She likes sitting by the window and looking outside. It looks like she enjoys watching outside. Those moments make her look so peaceful. Sometimes, she curls up beside me when I’m resting, and that makes me feel warm and loved. Even though it has only been two weeks, she already gives me comfort and feels like a best friend.
I chose the name Nyx because it sounded simple but also special. Nyx is the name of the Greek goddess of the night, and since my cat has gray fur and those mysterious green eyes, I thought the name matched her. It feels nice calling her that, and surprisingly, she already reacts when I call her name.
Taking care of Nyx has also taught me new things. I learned to be more responsible, like making sure she has food, water, and a clean space. I also pay attention to her moods, whether she wants to play, eat, or just rest. Even if it takes effort, I feel happy because I know she depends on me. She is not just a pet, she is now part of my family.
I am excited to spend more time with Nyx and watch her grow. I know there will be more fun, more lessons, and more memories to make together. For now, I am just thankful that I finally have her in my life. Two weeks may be short, but Nyx has already given me so much happiness. She truly is my little gray bundle of joy.
