Sabrina Carpenter has been one of my favorite singers for several years. Her music has always been very meaningful to me, and I have greatly admired her growth as an artist. Over a year ago, she decided to completely reinvent herself, and Short N' Sweet was born, which in my opinion has been her best work. To begin with, Sabrina appears totally different. I was surprised and delighted by the sensuality she exuded, acquiring an image that reminds me a lot of Marilyn Monroe or a young Madonna. The songs, in general, have a very catchy and lively rhythm, making them quite enjoyable.
Sabrina Carpenter es una de mis cantantes favoritas desde hace varios años, su música siempre ha sido muy significativa para mi y he admirado mucho su crecimiento como artista. Hace más de un año decidió reinventarse totalmente y, nació Short N' Sweet, el cual en mi opinión ha sido su mejor trabajo. Para empezar, Sabrina se muestra totalmente distinta, me sorprendió y encantó la sensualidad que desbordó adquiriendo una imagen que me recuerdan mucho a Marilyn Monroe o a una joven Madonna, y las canciones en general tienen un ritmo bastante pegajoso y bastante animado así que son bastante disfrutables
Although many criticized her for her new image because "many children are her fans" I feel that she hit the mark completely because she left behind her image of a pure teenager to give way to a woman who is not afraid to show her sensuality and empowerment through her songs, with risqué lyrics but that show her perspective on love, her relationships and disappointments so it's not difficult to feel identified at some point.
Aunque muchos la criticaron por su nueva imagen ya que "muchos niños son sus fans" siento que dió en el blanco totalmente porque dejó atrás su imagen de adolescente pura para dar paso a una mujer que no le da miedo mostrar su sensualidad y empoderamiento a través de sus canciones, con letras subidas de tono pero que muestran su perspectiva acerca del amor, sus relaciones y decepciones por lo que no es difícil sentirse identificada en algún punto.
Among my favorite songs are "Espresso," "Taste," "Please, Please, Please," and "Bed Chem," although in my opinion the entire album is very good. I loved his vocal layer, and I think she has improved a lot as a singer. I also think the album art is very good; Sabrina looks beautiful in the photographs of both the covers and the booklet, and it has an incredible design. As a collector, I was very happy to have obtained two CD editions: the standard one and the alternate cover, both of which are beautiful, as well as the vinyl edition.
Entre mis canciones favoritas se encuentran "Espresso", "Taste", "Please, Please, Please" y "Bed Chem" aunque en mi opinión todo el álbum en general es muy bueno. Amé su capa vocal, y pienso que ha mejorado mucho como cantante. El arte del disco también me parece muy bueno, Sabrina sale preciosa en las fotografías tanto de los covers como en el booklet y tiene un diseño increíble. Como coleccionista me puso muy contenta haber conseguido dos ediciones en CD, la standard y con portada alternativa los cuales son hermosos, así como la edición en vinilo.
The success of Sabrina with this album led her to release a deluxe edition with a different cover which I also loved. The bonus tracks are also very good, especially "Bad Reviews" and the remix of "Please, Please, Please" with Dolly Parton, which was incredible because I didn't expect her to join her voice with a singer of Dolly's caliber, and the result was the best. In conclusion, I would say that this is Sabrina's best album, and although she already gave us a new album, "Man's Best Friend," which is also very good, this one has a special place and is one of the best of last year. Sabrina managed to completely connect with her fans with this album and showed us that change and evolution is always a good thing. In my opinion, this album deserved the Grammy for "album of the year."
El éxito que obtuvo Sabrina con este disco, la llevó a sacar una edición deluxe con una portada distinta la cual también me encantó, y las canciones extras también son muy buenas especialmente "Bad Reviews" y el remix de "Please, Please, Please" con Dolly Parton el cual fue increíble porque no me esperaba que ella uniera su voz a la de una cantante de la talla de Dolly y el resultado fue el mejor. En conclusión, diría que este es el mejor álbum de Sabrina y aunque ya nos dió un nuevo trabajo "Man's Best Friend" el cual también es muy bueno, este tiene un lugar especial y es de los mejores del año pasado. Sabrina logró conectarse totalmente con sus fans con este álbum y nos demostró que cambiar y evolucionar siempre es bueno. En mi opinión, este álbum merecía el Grammy por "álbum del año".
