Hello Everyone,
This post will be related to the restoration of an old car. It is a 1936 Plymouth P2 Deluxe.
From this...
To.....THIS ;)
My friend and godfather bought it in almost original condition and we were not satisfied with some things and we could not get some parts in the original. In cooperation with my godfather Marko, I did a lot of work related to bodywork, mechanics, electricity, etc. The first challenge was BODYWORK. There was a lot of rust on the car and such parts needed to be replaced or made from scratch.
NO PROBLEM - JUST CHALLENGE
There were also a lot of challenges with the electricity because the entire car ran on 6 VOLTS, and any electrical system on cars today runs on 12 VOLTS.
The original engine was inline 6 cylinders 3.1 liters, approximately 90 horsepowers, ...
but we replaced it with a slightly stronger one from a Pontiac Firebird (Donor) 3.4 liters V6, 170 horsepowers.
To match everything, with the Stronger engine, we replaced the rear suspension (Pontiac Firebird) and the front suspension of the Chevrolet Malibu. Also complete brake System. A lot of cutting and welding was needed to make everything work properly and be safe in traffic.
We had a lot of NOT problems, but challenges with the electricity because it was taken over from a car about 60 years younger. Cutting wires, adding wires .... But solved ;)
As we replaced both the front and rear suspension (axles), the width of the fenders did not match, and so did the sills. Again NO PROBLEM - JUST CHALLENGE
Cutting sills and mudguards, inserting sheets of metal and welding with a little idea and a lot of work .... PROBLEM also SOLVED.
Of course, the floors were replaced and much more, the seats and the complete interior were upholstered. See the details .
