After I put my title up, I thought, hmmmm... maybe I should have included an art piece that had an alien in it, but I haven't made one yet, so maybe next time. ๐ Then I thought, well, maybe some of my art looks like aliens made it so I wonder if that counts for anything.

Lately I have been watching a lot of posts on youtube about ancient ruins all over the world, seeing all the things they have found and how there are lots of similar features in them. It appears that in nearly all, there are carvings on walls or caves or stones that include things that look like aliens and nearly all stories about the beginnings of individual culture's civilizations somehow include stories of people from the skies, air ships, flying. I only listen and watch for entertainment purposes. Of course what you are seeing of the ruins are real and do create many questions like "how did they do that???"..... but interpretations of what it all may mean is unprovable... at least for now. Because I have a wild imagination, I enjoy doing the "wonder if" about it all. I am a fence sitter though. Do I believe in aliens now and back then? I don't believe or dis-believe it. I believe we as the human race only know a tiny bit about what actually may exist in the past and now, so if one day we find out for sure "they" have been here or are still here, then, OK! ...what can we do about it??? ha ha... I do find archeology fascinating.
With the ruins in mind, I created this fun piece of art. As happens a lot of the time, the paper makes suggestions to me and the tall green statue'ish piece was a random tear that turned out to look like it had a head and so it was a catalyst for the rest of the piece. I am not sure of the name that may land on it permanent, but I was thinking on something like "From The Ruins" so that the name might cause you to see it too.
On Sundays I usually go to Moms as you know, but with my car broken down, I have no wheels temporarily. I was lucky last Sunday because my Mom cooked a family favorite meal from my childhood and had invited my brother and his wife, so I hitched a ride with them. It was a wonderful lunch and visit. Having no wheels though, doesn't mean not having new groceries ๐ I put in an order last night and those Walmart folks delivered them before 10:30 this morning. I like to try new items now and then. Sometimes that works out to the good, sometimes not. This time I tried these Mini Orange/Cranberry Scones from the deli. I had my coffee of course and ate my yogurt first to give the scones something nice to land on. LOL! You know, something a little more healthy first. Anyway, when I opened the container of scones, I was treated to a very nice aroma. I stopped and slowly took another breath to enjoy the moment. I thought if they tasted as good as they smelled, it should turn out to be a good experience. I was delightfully surprised. They were a little softer then I had expected and had a very nice flavor. They added a sweet little pleasure to my morning.
Now back to some random art that may look like it was made by aliens. ๐ I don't know what exactly is the appeal sometimes, but you know, being that I made this and at the time I am sitting right there, seeing the papers and designs close up with all of their color and texture and fun layers of color. I know the experience is different than just seeing the whole thing from the outside. That's the way it is though, very personal during the time of creation and no telling if it speaks to anyone else after. It is especially true for abstract work.
Since I painted/printed/stenciled all the individual papers previously, then there is much more to the process than just tearing up the paper and making a design. Both those parts are a lot of fun though, making the collage papers and then figuring out what to do with them. Can you imagine thinking up this many designs? For the good or the bad of them, there are no two alike.
I didn't think this one was completed when I got to this point, then the next day I saw it from a distance as I was coming back to the art table and from that distance, it looked like the paper that is red with blue circles was breaking up and parts were floating away. Oh ! so it's name became "Breaking Up"..... and I called it done.
If you have been around for a while you know I don't try to name my paintings for the most part. Sometimes when they are done, they do remind me of something and so if they want that name, I let them have it. Some like this one though, remain anonymous and are just happy to lull you into feeling good with it's cool colors combinations and unexpected design. It might make you wonder what it is saying with those written words. I wrote the words on the background paper, but I don't remember what I said now. LOLOLOL !!!!
Ok... that is all you get out of me for this morning. MORNING ! What?? I mean afternoon now as it is 1:41 PM. I wonder where the last two hours went.
Maybe I was abducted by aliens for a little bit and have no memory during those hours. I hope we had fun!
