Hello ! Did you think I died or something?? Well, not yet.
I did have a horrible toothache that hurt very bad though. I have never had a toothache before, not a real one that is. Root canal and cap next week.... joy, joy, but if you need it, I suppose it's good it exists.
While I wasn't posting I was still creating. Creating what?... well, it could be I was creating a mess. 😂 ...but creating is creating and it is fun regardless. It is nice though if once in a while something good ends up happening.
Isn't this an odd creation? The top has paper background with acrylic paint on top. The bottom has multiple layers of papers and paint. I don't know what it all is, but it does have a bird and some eggs. Tweet! Tweet! Do you like the watch faces included in the bottom jumble? I found a book of watches at one of the thrift shops, so some of them will probably be included in a lot of things going forward.
Before I made the above art, I made this one below. It is not finished but..... you can see some similar composition in the top being multiple blues and the bottom being a random mish-mash of papers and paints, however, as I go along I sometimes take photos which is like stepping back from the art to see it from a different perspective and this time, when I did that, I saw the chicken and the pig conversing. What ?? A chicken and a pig???? Where did THEY come from??
The fact is I don't really know. I was just doing my thing close up and they snuck in. Once I saw them, I couldn't continue on it as I had to think on whether I was going to change my direction and include those accidental characters or if I was going to carry on being random like it stared out to be. So... I put it aside and began again, with blues at the top and randoms at the bottom, creating the one you saw in the first photo. I still don't know what I am going to do with this one. The chicken side also includes a watch face. There is something I really like about including them in random areas.
Have you ever seen some art by some better artist in a gallery or wherever and saw a piece that had no more on it than you see below? I have and I didn't get it. LOL ! What tha ??? I always felt like they were pulling my leg or something. So one day, I began to create some art. It really was only about color and I was making it up as I went along.... like normal. I got this far and it seems like it was late and so it was left like this over night, although when I painted it, it was oriented in a landscape position and those yellow rectangles were on the left.
The next day when I came back past the art table, I looked at it and thought it was a nice start to fun color. However, over a few days as it lay around the art area, it began to make me laugh inside when I would see it and it reminded me of those odd-out pieces I had seen here and there where it looked like the artist was playing a joke on everybody else. I then decided I needed to do one like that too and in fact, I already had and this was it!
Yes, I know there is no accounting for what goes on in my head, but when I die, I'm sure this will be worth millions.
This is odd too. You would never be able to guess how many versions this little 5x7 canvas board went through before it landed here. This is not even close to my beginning vision. It got somewhat good and then went bad, got a little better and then traveled south again, over and over. Now it is as done as it is going to be. There is something I oddly like about most of it. Odd being the key word here. The only part of this that is paper is the big circle to the middle/right and the half circle on the bottom left.
This was one I had hanging around a long time, I had put on the lovely orange/pink/gold papers and the pizza slice and other bits that included some blues. I liked all the papers I had made and I liked the bold colors a lot, but it just needed something. Over time I kept passing it over and one night I decided to go through the "unfinisheds" and pick one to try to bring to a finish. I sat there and stared at it a few minutes and then I decided maybe it needed some black marks on it somewhere. I got out my permanent marker, ran the squiggle down from top right to the left and then I dropped down on the right and added another and.....it was done!
🤣
The last few nights I played at my art table, I used this paper to use up leftover paints randomly. I do that a lot and then use them for collage papers later. The larger color areas in the back landed over a couple of nights and then last night, I used to to blot thick paint off of what I was working on and it created all the random spots. I really loved the wild combination of colors and now I want to keep it as a piece of painted-only art instead of tearing it up for collage paper. I think I will mount it on a canvas board at some point and keep it because looking at the wild, bold, random colors makes me happy.
I hope you have all been doing well and that your hearts are happy.
