I am very fond of this coin, I received it many years ago as a gift for my communion and it was my first collector's coin... my number one;) The Marengo was born as a gold coin with a nominal value of 20 francs initially coined by the mint of the Subalpine Republic to celebrate Napoleon's victory over the Austrians on June 14th 1800 in Marengo.

I think that through some objects we can live a "piece" of history, from a strange sensation hold a coin in your hand that has more than 137 years... I wonder how many people owned it before it came to me.
