This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
In my post last week, I shared some shots I took during the blue hour, just before sunrise, on the beach in Umhlanga. In those photos I focused more on the Whalebone pier as a theme alongside the Umhlanga Lighthouse.
Today I will share some photos I took during and just after sunrise. Although the pier will be visible again, I will focus more on the sun rising over the ocean and the colours of the early morning.
The first two photos were taken just before the sun made its appearance. Only the lights of some ships were visible on the horizon.
While it was still relatively dark as the sun did not make its appearance yet, I got some nice effects in shots I took of the surf gently rolling out on the beach.
Looking up along the beach.
While I was taking photos, my wife was collecting shells...
I liked this one and put it on top of a rock to get a clear shot of it.
As it got closer to the time for the sun to appear, it created beautiful colours on the water and the clouds. Even on the wet sand, as the water was pulling back, it created beautiful patterns and colours.
Then the sun made its appearance...
I will end today's post with a clear view in the first light of day over the ocean with a rocky scene in the foreground.
And that's it for today folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
