Hello Everyone!
Making ashes, The lovely lookie-loo pearl clutching & A bad joke befitting of all the bad behavior!
Alright, it has been a few days since I spelled anything out here... so I may as well make an entry now while I am feeling motivated to do so. Spending so much time writing elsewhere has not left me feeling like writing here much at all... because most days I seem to use up 'all the words that I have in me for the day' long before the day is actually over and sometimes before the sun has even crested the horizon.
For the most part I have been spending my days putting my above-ground firepit to good use making ashes for the compost... before the big autumn fly population explosion happens. I have also been cleaning out one of the gulches where there is a lot of brush and then using said brush to make the ashes with.
It is by far a pretty dull activity and the tiny firepit makes the process a slow one... and especially so when I walk away from the fire for a few moments (to gather more sticks) and it dies down... thus making me start all over again! Of course, having a small coal bank helps during those times... but it is still a process of gathering some dry leaves and twigs, piling them on the coals and getting it all flaming up good again... without causing too much smoke along the way.
Not-so-surprisingly, I get dirty looks from the local lookie-loos over having a fire to start with... because of course anything that I do here is going to be met with dissaproval! If it were not so gloriously pathetic, I would probably find it all more humorous than I do... and like I told a friend recently: If I am the most exciting thing going on in these folks' lives then whoa I almost want to feel bad for them.
With all the political horseshit going on here at the moment, I am relieved that the actual local folks (not the posers from afar) around here do not seem super radicalized or anything... but it is not like I would trust them either way. Some folks apparently just cannot stand the thought of others enjoying happiness, peacfulness, security or even marginal prosperity... and yeah that is about as pathetic as it gets in regards to how others are treated.
Meanwhile there are all these frigging wingnuts online spouting off all kinds of blather trying to stoke the flames of a civil war... that honestly most of them would hide from if said civil war actually broke out. My personal take on it goes something like the following joke... because things are just so ridiculously insane, stupid and essentially the equivelant of children playing with matches... hence me treating it with a healthy does of satire!
"Civil warts are one hundred percent preventable by not allowing corporations or religious entities to have unprotected copulation with government bodies. If you think that you (or a loved one) have been exposed to the mental virus that causes civil warts... please contact a helpline or consult a professional to find out what treatment options are available in your area."
Well, on that note... ta ta for now. I hope folks are doing well, staying sharp and not letting the sad state of affairs on the planet get you down too much.
I have been seeing a lot of these yellow flowers lately!
