Happy Independence Day from California
This morning, my wife and I went on our usual routine walk around the neighborhood. It’s one of those days we look forward to, good weather, quiet streets, and fresh air with greeneries to breathe. But today was extra festive. You can already feel something is brewing out there... yep, it’s July 4th, and everyone is getting ready for tonight’s big fireworks celebration
That’s us during our walk yep, morning faces and all. This is my wednesday walk blog post. The sun was just right, the breeze was cool, and everything felt calm and good. Our neighborhood’s looking neat as usual with those palm trees and tiled rooftops in the background.
We also saw the grassy area where people had already reserved their own picnic spots with blankets, folding chairs, even some mini coolers. Better be early right there if you want the best view of the fireworks show later
Next up white tents popping up along the road. Food stalls, retail vendors, and who knows, probably someone selling glow sticks later which my kids will definitely love. It’s not fully open yet in the morning, but you can tell it’s gonna be packed tonight.
We passed by the big open field and saw the setup crew already hard at work. That Budget truck isn’t a food truck it’s actually part of the fireworks crew getting ready for the evening show They had gear out, tables set up, and tents in place, probably prepping all the launch equipment. Feels exciting to catch a glimpse of all the behind the scenes action.
I took these photos so I could share a little glimpse of life here in California with my loved ones back home in the Philippines. 🇵🇭❤️ We may be far away, but celebrations like this always remind me of our own fiestas food, music, community, and that same excited buzz in the air. We miss you guys already.
Tonight, we’ll bring snacks, find a comfy spot, and watch the sky light up. Wishing everyone a joyful and safe Fourth of July wherever you are
