Our personal reality is forming when we attach our attention to different things. We pay amount of attention to things that correlated to our personal 'importance markers'. As the result, there is the 'attention network' that shows our personal internal nature, who we are. This personal reality, for one side, is absolutely real and reflected in our experience, but, from the other side, is unreal, because it was made by various external forces, by the internal propensities and by the social obviousness.
Let’s take an example. The reality of ice-skater, chess player, farmer, pessimist and optimist is very different. Their worlds are different, even if they have some common crossing zones. If they don’t have these common zones, then the chance that they will pay attention to each other is very small. Unless they together get trapped in an elevator.
But there is one thing that need to be emphasized: people live in their attention network not like spiders that are sensitive to the slightest vibration, but like the poor entangled flies in spider’s web, because, as I mentioned above, their reality is illusion largely. Perhaps it is worth considering for the effectiveness of the use of your attention what it is aimed at, what it brings into our lives as a result and how much time and effort to maintain all this requires? And so whether all of this indeed it is important?
Often, these markers are created by egregores (the transpersonal energy-information organisms which organize a psi-space of humanity in order to attract supporters through capturing their attention which are resonated with egregore's common interests and ideas). And a person is immersed in a certain external reality, which his life is. Then we reflex forced to preserve and support this imposed personal reality, and sometimes it takes a lot of energy. Defending someone else's opinion, you can find yourself on real barricades.
We should take into account that advanced egregores not only take, but also give back the collected energy from the given attention to their supporters, according to the amount of available resource, according to the resonancing of the actions and thoughts of one's participant to the 'internal request' of the egregor. Someone takes more, someone nothing. But the main thing is that person can have a feedback.
In occult science, the egregor is a transpersonal entity that interacts with the human psyche. Due to the fact that it exists both in the astral and mental planes, it is capable to do a logical operations with the emotions and feelings of people. Through a prism of bioenergyinformatics, egregor is an energy-information structure that is arising from the co-directed emotions and thoughts of a group of people united by a common idea.
Sometimes the markers of importance have created by energy-informational parasites, which do not need anything except the living energy of your attention. Apocalyptic spectacle - a person comes home, sits down in front of the TV and the remote 'click', 'click' from the channel to the channel. For somebody the TV began to play a role of nanny for their children... Or, there are people, who just want to take your time and attention, leaving a feel of an irritation and emptiness. And your environment and society makes you to feed, and to feed, and to feed those parasites with attention, time, emotions of your life ... Many of person have a 'collections', 'lady's novels', 'detectives', 'evening newspapers', 'serials', 'online games'... Is it all important? Can we reorganize our time in order to spend it useful?
Management of the markers of importance is the configuration management of personal reality. Therefore, for a successful practice, we need to determine the value of trust in any people and ideologies, any obviousnesses. Accept that a life is just the game and for interacting with specific individuals or communities you need respected their choices and understanding of the world out of love and sympathy. But our own life we need to build, focusing on our own importance marker. The main thing is not to fall into the misconception that our importance markers is better than the importance markers of other people. Everyone has the right of choice a life. Even if you don’t understand it is or think that is stupid.
Inside each of us there is that great hermit, silent 'Inward Observer' who watches all, with nothing merges, and therefore sees everything… It is he who allows us to remain conscious in the face of the illusory nature of the human world, in which illusions are deadly sometimes. Only he makes us remember our goals and turn off the TV. Only the formation of the Inward Observer distinguishes the person who lives in illusions, from the person who understand the importance of the doing something useful, as example, person can does some exercise, instead of ordinary waiting a bus at a bus stop. By the way, 'expecting a bus' and 'doing an exercise' are just different markers of importance, which attract our attention during the process of 'standing at a bus stop'. To make something new, you need to wake up.
There are a lot of methods which will help you to find an inner state of Inward Observer; you may choose what you like. For example: the first iteration - you observe the world, the second - you observe yourself observing the world, the third - you observe yourself, watching yourself, watching the world...
The inner evolution to the Inward Observer allows us to look at ourselves from the outside and 'wake up' from any dream, to became free from 'parazite 'merges' and make a conscious choice.
This method is needed to be made for a long period of time. For example, the cycle of exercises is a month, day-to-day. This means that we give ourselves the task to keep this state the whole day. Of course, sometimes your attention floats away – it’s normal. Again think about it, tune in, create a state and hold it. Try to recall this state as often as possible. In the evening before going to bed we look around the past day with our inner glance and estimate how much time we were in the Observer state, and when and why we lost this state.
The next day - we do not try to recall and hold this state, it will return itself. We will meet this state with a smile and joy. In the evening, before going to sleep, we analyze the past day by the Inward Observer and estimate how many times and what situations contributed to appear the state and what moments contributed to disappear. In the next day we will 'active' recall the state of Observer again, etc.
The criterion for progress is a spontaneous increase in the presence of the Inward Observer on 'passive' days of practice. There is one more criterion that points to a qualitative transmutation, the output of the practice to another level - when you start to remember about it during sleep that will spontaneously lead to the beginning of the cycle of practices of lucid dreaming.
