The Country of Botswana
Is utterly stunning and the people are some of the friendliest you will find in Africa. They live a slower life and smile as often as they can.
Ariving at Maun Airport
As we often do, the best way to see a country is with low flying airplanes. But boy are they scary, you can only see the propeller in this shot as we come in for a soft landing. The roads are pretty bad so many young pilots fly all over Africa, transporting tourists from game lodges to airports.
In the rainy season in the delta is totally flooded.
The rivers and lagoons of the delta bends like a massive snakes with no ends, curving across the horizon.
The Elephant trails can be seen for a long time after the animals has passed and I am sure smaller creatures will use it as highways. So permanent paths are created over time.
When we finally reached Mokoro and got into the boats we could only marvel at the beauty that surrounds us. The bird life is lively and everyone is on their own mission, to find food and shelter.
This fellow just missed his catch and only got himself wet.. He will need to fix his jacket before he tries again.
No trip is fulfilling to us if it does not have an African sunset.
This is an Shakawe airport Building. Every thing you would need is here and the staff is very friendly.
