One of the world’s rarest trees is bearing fruit for the first time!

The Wollemi pine flourished 200 million years ago. However, the pine was thought to be extinct. It is named after the Dinosaur trace because it is a very old and ancient relief, dating back 200 million years, which was during the time of the Dinosaurs. It is an evergreen plant whose leaves remain green in every season and its flower is a bubble, which is called chocolate bubble. Its leaves are long and wide, like ferns. It can grow up to 40 meters tall in the wild. There are about 100 of these trees still alive naturally in the world, and they are known as a fossil fuel tree. To protect them, plantations are now being planted.

Then, in 1994, several were found in a remote valley in Australia.

After a decade of trials, it made its first European appearance in 2005, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Sir David Attenborough, who planted the tree, said: “How exciting that we should discover this rare survivor from such an ancient past. It is romantic that something has survived 200 million years unchanged.”

Now, it is bearing fruit for the first time in recorded history. @kachy2022 @maiasun84 @nasseir
