Hi 😄!
This time I want to share a session with a young woman I absolutely loved photographing. She had a special charm: her facial bone structure, hair, attitude… everything was 100%. She was super easy to work with, effortlessly switching between Disney princess and high fashion model.
When I saw her photos on my computer later, I loved them. They were first edited for the client, in a more natural style. However, I still felt there was something more to explore.
So I went for this type of photo, more Fine Art, which takes me to an enchanted forest, with cool tones that give me a more ethereal feeling. It stops being the real world and becomes something that comes from my imagination, where she is the protagonist of the story.
This is one of the things I love about editing and, especially, Fine Art photography: we move away from reality to dive into completely created worlds, within a visual story. I also try to create the feeling of a digital painting, without overdoing it. The point isn’t to “stuff it with Photoshop,” but to get closer to the idea I have in my mind.
Below, I’m sharing the JPG of the original RAW. I always try to work to achieve a photo with a high level of finish. I don’t expect to fix everything later in Photoshop. I learned that a long time ago, with help from the studio, experience, and good friends with much more experience.
What do I regret? Not being able to use lots of AI tools that I would love to… I’m a big fan of Rebeca Saray’s style, where we don’t replace the subject or the scene, we just enrich it. And… a 24-70mm or an 85mm lens would be amazing to work with. But right now, and if you read a previous post where I explained my family situation, you can imagine it’s impossible for me to afford any of those things, especially from Cuba. So, as always, without losing spirit and forward we go!
If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for your time, and I hope you enjoy the photos and imagine worlds as rich as the ones I imagine.
