Emotion, strength, passion — those are some of the feelings the color red brings out. But it can also speak of elegance and sophistication, when it’s used with balance, of course.
In this photo session, color is one of the key elements — and it’s no accident. Red flows like a thread, connecting the whole look: from the hat, to the hairpiece, lips, belt, the roses she holds, her tights and shoes. She doesn’t need to say a word — her presence, and that color, say enough. There’s strength and femininity in every detail.
When you use a color this powerful in portraiture, it’s important to know how to balance it — not so it takes over the whole image, but so it enhances it. Texture can be a great ally here. And no, it doesn’t overwhelm — when used intentionally, it actually brings harmony.
In these photos, for example, her only piece of clothing is in a softer tone, but full of texture with floral details that still carry visual weight.
And even though the background is mostly white, it includes art deco–inspired geometric patterns that add subtle interest.
We also brought in little green touches — just enough to refresh and enrich the scene.
