Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Today I want to share with you a new practice I just finished of a portrait using a darker style. For this illustration, I decided to use slightly larger facial proportions, although I have realized that this is already a pattern I have followed in all these practices.
I started by sketching the portrait, then gradually applied color, adding details and shadows to give it greater depth and realism. This process took me a total of 7 hours. Below, I will show you several images that illustrate the progress of this illustration.
Hola a todos, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una nueva práctica que acabo de finalizar de un retrato aplicando un estilo mas sombrio. Para esta ilustracion, decidí utilizar proporciones faciales ligeramente más grandes, aunque me he dado cuenta que este ya es un patron que he seguido en todas estas practicas.
Inicie trazando el boceto del retrato, al que despues apliqué color de manera gradual, añadiendo detalles y sombras para darle mayor profundidad y realismo. Este proceso me tomó un total de 7 horas. A continuación, les voy a presentar varias imágenes que muestran el progreso de esta ilustración.
Process
As with any drawing, I had to start with a sketch, drawing multiple guide lines to establish the correct proportions and achieve a certain structure. After completing this initial stage, I proceeded to apply skin color to the character and add layers to gradually darken the illustration.
Como todo dibujo tuve que iniciar con el boceto, trazando múltiples líneas guía para establecer las proporciones correctas y lograr una cierta estructura. Tras finalizar esta etapa inicial, procedí a aplicar el color de piel al personaje e ir agregando capas para luego irlo convirtiendo en mas oscuro esta ilustracion.
