San Jorge con su armadura brillante y su valentía enfrento al dragón, logrando vencerlo después de una feroz batalla, simbolizando la victoria del bien sobre el mal, él se convirtió en un héroe y fue canonizado como santo. Uno de los ilustradores que ayudó a popularizar la leyenda en el arte occidental fue Gustave Doré, un famoso artista y grabador francés del siglo XIX. Para la realización del dibujo utilicé una cartulina de 34 X 28 cm, tinta china y plumilla. Inicialmente, realicé un boceto con lápiz de color azul, que es mi favorito para efectuar los bocetos, ya que su acabado es más limpio y no deja manchas como si sucede con el grafito.
