Hello friends, good vibes to all.

> All eyes around the world will be on Sunday for what will be another classic in the history of Real Madrid and Barcelona. It's a match that comes, as almost always, with a significant competitive edge, as the Whites lead by two points over the Catalans (24 and 22 points, respectively). This means that either one extends their lead to five points or the other takes the lead in La Liga. But to understand how both clubs can approach this weekend's clash, we'd have to see how they fared in this Champions League round that concluded yesterday.
> Let's start with Hansi Flick's Barcelona, who faced Olympiacos of Greece in a match that suddenly opened up in an abysmal fashion. The match was somewhat jeopardized when the Greeks were reduced to 10 men, resulting in a highly dubious second yellow card. The reality is that before that, the match could have been balanced; the intensity with which the visitors began to push was very harsh and suffocating. Clearly, that pace couldn't be sustained, and little by little, Barca began to find their feet. We witnessed an extraordinary Fermín; the young midfielder is in impressive form despite coming back from injury. He came away with a hat trick, accompanied by Lamine with a penalty and a double from Rashford. > We have to talk about how effective and important the signing of Marcus Rashford has been for the Blaugranas. A player who came into the forward line to press, unbalance, and score goals, all in the absence of Lewandowski due to injury and because his level is gradually declining. Another player who also deserves to be mentioned is Dro Fernández, a youth product who, at just 17 years old, had a great performance on Tuesday. Flick came out with 7 or 8 players from La Masia, and the result was beyond expectations. The reality is that Barcelona's current form is very good, despite that 4-1 defeat against Sevilla.
> On the other hand, we have the Merengues, who faced a Juventus side that sits seventh in Serie A, four points behind the leader, and is far from the Old Lady of previous years. Something is happening with Madrid, and after that defeat to Atlético Madrid, I get the impression that their solidity, if they ever had it, seems to have slipped a bit. It's not that Xabi Alonso has found the secret formula, because I don't think he has yet, but it is true that sometimes you see flashes of a top-level game. I say this because yesterday's game was a strange one, one that would have ended much more lopsidedly if it weren't for the goalkeepers on both sides. > With a solo goal from Bellingham after a great play from Vinicius, Madrid edged the Italians by a mere 1-0. Courtois was key in keeping a clean sheet, but so was Di Gregorio for Juve. I've always thought that Valverde's position at full-back is a waste, not because he's a poor player, but because where he thrives and where Madrid thrives is in the middle, and that was evident yesterday. Mbappé's level of play is impressive; right now, you could easily say he's the best player in the world, but sometimes something more is needed. If you look at the midfield onward, the squad is insane, but something is missing to fully integrate that machine. It was a difficult match yesterday, and it seems like they always win by the skin of their teeth.
> So, the favorite for Sunday? Well, for me it's Barcelona. I think they're in better shape despite the injuries, and having Raphinha is a vital plus. But we all know these games are always illogical; sometimes what we expect beforehand matters little for what we end up seeing on the pitch. The game will be at the Bernabéu, so we'll have to see how the fans support the Whites. What I have no doubt about is that it will be a great match, one that is slightly tilted toward FC Barcelona. We'll see what happens...
